View Full Version : Character Screen - EQ stops responding

Hey guys, I'm having an issue on one of my computers where EQ freezes & stops responding when I try to enter world from the character screen. It is only happening on one of my PCs and it is hit-or-miss when I try to log on. I pretty much have to ctrl-alt-delete, end task, rinse and repeat until I can finally get through and in the game.

I've tried updating my video drivers, directx, nothing seems to work. Its as if its a port issue but I'm not sure. Below is my log:

You've updated drivers. Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the game?


Alternatively, you could try and manually change your graphics in your graphics program. Unsure what card you have. :p Catalyst Command Center or the nVidia Control Panel

Had this issue when I installed on Linux. Check the eqclient.ini and turn off graphics features one by one and see if it works. Or, how I did it, turn them all off and just play haha.

Okay, I've tried all the above. I've even tried opening up as many ports as I can and I'm STILL having this issue. Starting to really piss me off. So tired of continously having to Ctrl-Alt-Del at the Character Select screen 9-10 times before I can finally get in.

Any other ideas? WTF is causing it to hang like this?
