I read on several threads that people left or is about to leave the server.
Well, tonight I logged on , there were 750+ ppl.
All dualboxes?

No lol.
The people talking about leaving are those who want to test this new server out....it wont be alot of people, and we have alot more interest here than in this new progression server.

There are only 5 real people playing on the server now. Because they're boxing, the population number is inflated a bit.

Sorrow is right. People are leaving to go over to Sonys new progression to recruit! So if you have an old eq account that you can log into for free go spread the word! The more here the better.

P1999 has a lot of people yes! well over 1k
It also does have a ton of boxers. They just don't get caught doing it. I know many friends that box here still.
The SoE server comes out tuesday. People wouldn't leave here until then. Most likely.
I don't think the SoE server will have a huge impact.
If P1999 has 800 online . about 600 are real people . Just 200 of those are afk with their computer left on.

If you see someone boxing, report it. There account will be watched and banned. Promise. I have seen it dozens of times. a LOT of boxers get caught, probably the majority. We'll never ever have zero but through reporting and the devs constantly getting better at detecting them we'll hopefully keep it to a minimum.

She said they were friends...do you really think she's going to get them banned? It was a pretty dumb move to say you know people who box, it's even dumber to turn them in for it.

Harri, you are so violent <3
But yes, if you see something against server rules (don't be petty...tired of 'so and so is sending me hate tells'....you have /ignore for a damn reason) then report it...simple enough!

Well, if fippy is anything like combine, it'll be crowded... and i mean hella crowded, you'll need MQ just to find mobs in the lowbie areas...
Factor in the fact everyone has their account with 5 free days, and you'll probably see a few people giving it a go.
I'll probably have a quick peek in to see what's gaan errn.

I have no intention of even logging in to the new progression server.
It's SoE rules and that means marketplace items will be available within a few months. Also, monks are way overpowered.

Off-topic response;
If it isn't infringing upon another's sovereignty~ a person has their right to exist and do what they please, even if it legal or not. To snitch on another for doing something that they personally find displeasing (from their perspective) is a grey area to me still. If anything, the snitch may be at fault for intentionally wishing harm to another through ratting out the 'wrong-doer'. The snitch has every right to do what they will though, as does the person committing a (non-lethal) illegal act. When legality is brought into this scenario, things get iffy. Something legal has nothing to do with law and is different every few hundred miles in any direction.

EQLive's progression server will be plagued with MQ2, hackers, and multi boxers (NOT just dual boxers mind you, I mean some people box 3-6 characters.)

Not to mention their progression server is just crap plain and simple. Who wants to play where overpowered items for that era is still in? You can still see the dreaded books in place and revamped zones? Yuck, I can't stomach thinking about it.

Oh an the boats don't work! The paid SOE employees can't touch what these great wonderful volunteers are doing here. It is really sad. I envy the people that know how to program and do databases, I so much wish I could help. I can't so I play, thanks again to all who make this possible.

I think this server and what the devs have done here is the main reason that the Progression server is going live now. Many of the things the devs at SOE said were impossible to do have been done here and that put them on the spot.
Yes the progression server will be kinda lame, but there is a month and a half before Kunark so it is worth a try IMO, see some of you there :)

Last time I reported someone for boxing (and I'm about 99% certain they were boxing) they told me "good luck...I'm friends with Nilbog"
Next thing I know, MY account is banned for "harassment" of another player.

PM me about this if you'd like, and I can see what's up with it. I do not see your name in correlation of a petition about this. If I knew someone who played, I'd be 10x more strict with them than someone I don't. Most likely I do not even know this person.

Fippy Darkpoo will fail, $OE has already failed.. To the faithful im sure there happy playing a better game right here right now already. Why waste time on that server if you dont plan on playing it thru to the end and you know most wont. Just a waste of time.....

It makes sense that someone would claim that they're irl friends with a dev when they're caught breaking rules, because it has a sort of chilling effect on getting them reported. Of all the devs on this server I would probably trust nilbog to be the cleanest (not to say anything bad about any of the other devs of course!). If someone said "good luck...I'm friends with [insert dev here]" when I accused them of boxing, I'd screenshot it right away and report them, because in my mind that would be an admission of guilt, and I have no doubt that the dev in question would agree.
Of course, there's also the possibility that you just made all this up. A lot of people use the same old story that they reported someone, and that the person said they were friends with uthgard/rogaine/nilborg/etc., and so they got banned instead. Yet none of these people ever seem to give any evidence of this, when it should be pretty easy to prove with just a screenshot. Something tells me you're not telling the whole story!

If P1999 has 800 online . about 600 are real people . Just 200 of those are afk with their computer left on.Sony offered free play starting on the 10th and it goes to the 21st I think. So people won't wait until Fippy launches. I wager a lot of them that want to try progression are over on live now testing out servers in preperation - all for free. But it'll cost money once things get moving.
Reading what's happening over there is really amusing. So much is lost in all of the confusion and in life. It's so easy to miss things. Just reminds you: keep your individuality, don't be a sheep.
I found an interesting game the other day called Minecraft.
