Anyone here like to play drunk? I am drinking right now and am thinking of logging on. I have no problem playing completely s***faced but only when I am at the camp. Getting to and from locations can be a problem sometimes.

Drunk eq is literally the best eq I've ever had. (Side note: never had stoned eq)

Teetotaler here. Best to not obscure the beauty of the game with cheap chemicals and irresponsible actions.

Best drunk questing I saw was an enchanter cast air elemental illusion (for lev), cross the zone line into SolA and fall into lava and die....
he forgot as it was an illusion it would get stripped by zoning :D

Eq drunk is dangerous. Id buff noobs or play a low level twink but raiding or high-level exp grinding will eventually get you in a bad situation

LSD eq is pretty dope but only if you're on a RP journey

Drunk EQ adventures tend to send you on sober side quests in search of your corpse.

Of course
Got life threateningly drunk one time playing my ranger.
I woke up in my chair with my character naked at the bottom of the gorge in Overthere. Had to retrace the night hangover style to find my corpse. All the /says /oocs and zone info had long since scrolled past and all I had was my tell info. Apparently I ended up in Field of Bone where I was PLing noobs and also KSing them, until a Crusader killed me. Then I must have tried to get back to my corpse, fell in the ravine, and passed out.

That's why I don't drink like I used to. I am nice and a super asshole all in one when I am drunk.

reminds me of getting lost in lower faydark once for like a straight hour, eventually running in brownie hut and dying and then having to try to find my corpse drunk while reading the wiki. It never worked out.

A month or two back I was trying to get from Cabilis to the Skyfire ramp in OT.
I died 3 times, twice on corpse runs, and was about to lose my mind before a helpful rogue brought me my corpse at the WW zoneline
I was a complete mess and I'd do it again in a heartbeat

I'm a strong advocate of the position that corpse runs can be one of the most enjoyable parts of EQ. I mean, if it is successful, at least the loot should be good! If not, then at least it is going to be easy to find upgrades to your empty slots.
Kind of a shame they restore rotted corpses from that perspective!

I prefer not to play with people that are messed up.. last night in oasis a monk in my group was high and basically sat drooling at the screen most of the time.. didn't follow mobs to finish them. and half the time didn't even attack.. was rather pissed off bout that.

What is there to be pissed off about? It's not like his life is yours! Sounds like something to be grateful for!
I'm happy that p99 provides a nice padded sand box for these folks ;).

yep as a tank I hate melee that don't follow mobs when I'm positioning. If it takes u more than a couple seconds to reposition, your not paying attention and probably watching netflix

There was a Bard in <Asgard> named Dyzzi who would get on vent completely sh!t faced at least once or twice a week raging about Totinos pizza and vodka.
P99ers being drug addicts and drunks is not something just invented on the forums, the struggle is real

I recently attended a lecture on hording, and am currently reading an article about the effects of long term unemployment on the sense of self.
I was surprised by how much each of these made me think of the p99. Probably just a symptom of my own obsession, rather than anything to do with the servers' population.

Pissed off that he wasn't pulling his weight in the group.. i don't care if someone wants to be a drunk. thats their choice but when you are dead weight it's now our problem :)

If you're that inebriated, how do find the computer to play?
Amateurs.
Rarely drunk, but if im online there is about a 99% chance I've been smoking. EQ can be horribly boring if you're not at least a little fucked up.
If you've grouped with me, chances are I was HUI (healing under influence). One of the best that I don't remember was waking up standing at the lava rings at 45. Later learned that I passed out in a nobles group so they grabbed a druid and evac'd me out. Decent folks if you ask me.

Generally speaking, playing EQ a little tipsy is fun! Helps break up some of the monotony of the grind.
THAT BEING SAID: I'd be careful of doing anything real stupid. I.E my former guildy who got drunk as fuck off of whiskey. While drunk, he was dicking around in EC, and decided to sell his Robe of the Oracle for 300 plat. So he does the trade, pretty much blacked out, and logs off. Next day he logs on.. and realized his Manna Robe was missing. It has the same graphic as Robe of the Oracle. He sold his Manna Robe for 300 plat.

While I enjoy playing a couple drinks deep, I feel like i'd do something stupid if I was hammered. Like porting someone to skyfire instead of EJ on my wizzy (which I've nearly done sober) and instantly dying to all the mobs waiting there.
Speaking of which, I ran into a very friendly druid very very late one evening while trying to get a port from WC to BB on my level 20ish rogue. All of his messages didn't make much sense so i figured he was a bit smashed, and then he confirmed that by telling me he was. He didn't accept my tip money, buffed me up, then instead of porting me to BB he ported me to DL and went afk/passed out. I waited a while for him to come back and for anyone to come by to help port me out but to no avail... I ended up sneak/hiding through the caves, running through DL dodging spiders, and then taking the boat to BB from FV once I got there. An exciting adventure!

I got hammered one night and was in Overthere and passed out at my keyboard with auto run on. When I logged back on the next day, I apparently had died. My corpse was in some random tree that a bard helped me find. Don't remember any of it haha.

I used to play back on FV with a Vah Shir warrior named Paasht that would routinely get aggro and then go grab another beer. Our groups eventually broke up when he got too drunk and passed out at the keyboard.
We'd meet back up at our camp the next day and rez him so we could do it again. It was like this for months until one time he passed out drunk and just never came back.
Fun times.

One can surmise many different ways this poor fellows EQ adventures ended. Personally I can't help but think he passed out and died from alcohol poisoning on his KB.

There's a differwncw between getting drunk while playing, and logging on wasted. The latter is more dangerous for some reason.
I used to get drunk on whisky while raiding PoSky with BDA (for obvious reasons). I could make it the whole way, but if I got liquor ed up then logged on, be dead in ten mins for sure

That was pretty much our assumption too. He finally drank himself into a coma and died.

Back when I played wow (I stopped after wotlk because it became absolute garbage) I stayed up for two nights straight playing drunk and passed out. I eventually woke up in the middle of water with a fatigue meter ticking down and no land in sight. I'd hate to see what would happen if I had been playing EQ and wandered into the middle of the oot.
