Went LD last night while fighting a cougar in iceclad on the tower island. Was late so I went to bed assuming I'd make my corpse run in the morning. Woke up naked on the dock but my corpse is nowhere to be found. I know exactly which part of the island I was on and my body is nowhere. Had to leave for work, will petition tonight but is this a thing? Do corpses jump or disappear here when a LD is involved?

Good question, no idea.

Sorry to hear you had problems last night. Was late getting online.

Cougars don't like water.

What's your characters name? Blue or Red server? When will you be in game next? This is easily remedied with more information.

I know exactly which part of the island I was on and my body is nowhere.

If I had a copper for every time I told myself that and then couldn't find my corpse...

I'd have like 8 or 10 copper.

Drauglin, blue, tonight 9 est.
You're right Tec, it's easy to get mixed up and I shouldn't assume. I've only ever pulled to the one spot on the island so far so I'm pretty confident.

Well, this sounds like it could be fun. A mysteriously lost corpse. Searching the snow, in the dead of night for clues. Throw in a raffle and you have a player made event, heh

Seriously tho; if you need help @ 9pm EST, lmk. I cannot ress you but I can find the corpse or help out in other ways.

Buy a couple of these and leave them in the bank for unfortunate situations.

If needed, I can log on my cleric for a 90% rez if you can find me a port to the location.

You can always petition in game for a /loc of your corpse :)

When you go LD your character acts like an NPC, which means fleeing at low health. You're corpse is somewhere, range depends on how long it took the mob to kill you.

Is this true? I've had several LD deaths and the corpse was always in the spot I was when I went LD, maybe just luck though I guess.

Do /corpse. Is there a corpse in zone at all? If it says too far away the corpse is there somewhere

If its not, it should be. Was what happened on live during classic.

If its not, another explanation could be that he didn't notice he was going LD until right before disconnect and was moving client side, but stayed in the spot when it started server side. If this is the case he just needs to retrace his steps.

You've never seen a group member go LD ? They will actually follow the mob around and keep fighting it.

I've seen people go LD but don't think I've ever witnessed that, if I did I don't remember it.

Now I'm wondering why LD me never wins the battle or flees long enough to fully disconnect :/

There I am, so pretty. Thank you for the location! I really don't know how I missed him, the area isn't big and I stick right out.

Went LD soloing those skeletons in DL. Came back to a pile of chips in front of me, and myself at about 30%. I have no idea how a headless cleric won that. I wonder if your character still earns xp from the kill...

I wonder if your character still earns xp from the kill...I was root/rotting Gornit in the Ocean of Tears with my druid one time, and the power went out and back on. I came back on to find his corpse in front of me. I can't help but think that it was because I was wielding a Garou Bone Club, and because I was an "NPC" when I went LD, that it's pathetic damage output was ignored, and the proc was going off more than usual.

tl;dr whole thread.

If the mob started fleeing while you were engaged, your LD character chased it to wherever it fled and you were trained and killed at that location rather than where you last saw your character.
