When I logged back in, the character got stuck. When I reloaded I was locked out. By the time I showed up everything was gone.

How long do things stay on the ground?

6 mins. Less someone found ur stash. Please use Dial a Port for all transfers next time.

5 minutes iirc. I timed it once. Just stick a cheap thing on ground and watch it. It poofs within a specific period of time.

***Or maybe Afeni is right, maybe 6 mins.

I don't understand why people drop transfer anything of significant value. Just ask someone in a known guild to transfer for you. I've done this hundreds of times over the years (too many alts) and never had anyone steal my items. You're way more likely to lose items from drop transferring than you are by asking someone to transfer for you.

I didn't know Dial a port was also Dial a Trade. I will be a while before I fill up my bank account again, but when it, I will keep you in mind.

We're a little bit of everything. If you are in the tunnel just type /who 'dial a port'

Also you could also use anyone in a named guild.

As a proud member of Dial I stand in tunnel a lot (ok i sit too) and I will gladly help anyone transfer stuff for no fee at all. Look me up next time.

Gambling is fun! And sometimes it is quick. I ground transferred a regen bp the other day. So exciting! I woulda loved it if a little newbie found it too, can you imagine the feels for someone with nothing finding something like that on the floor waiting for them!?

This gives me a roleplay idea (evil grin)...

I'm going to start a Rogue and try to steal from everybody, picking up everything left on the floor...

I found it fun to run around and drop things to ground in Iceclad when seaworthy planking was still in the game.

It's quick and you don't have to rely on others. I would say though, before dropping bags, realize you can lose it. If you cannot live with the item being lost, do not bag drop.

I've drop traded 500k+ worth of gear in the same bag before. aon+manastone+fungi+a bunch of priest gear.

The trick is not drop trading anything you can't easily replace.

I would sooner drop trade than use the greedy man-whores of DaP. The best way to trade high value items is find a level 60 in EC tunnel who looks like they got a bunch of nice sh!t. Chances are the Monk who is wielding ToV weapons and in full Velious armor isn't going to risk getting themselves banned for stealing your 45k Fungi (or anything for that matter). Typically anyone in <Aftermath> is a good choice since thieving EC tunnel would surely result in guild removal/shame.

Using drop transfers and no rent bags are foolish risks. No level 60 in a known guild is going to steal your fbss or fungi tunic.

What did you end up losing? Lots of friendly people here, that may be willing to help if you are referring to lower to mid range items. And it helps you just asked a question instead of begging for replacements.

They won't reimburse failed drop transfers.

Drop transfers are fine if you have a back up plan. A spare laptop and a spare internet connection (phone) and not dropping the items in a stupid location will mitigate most of your risk unless the P99 servers get struck by lightning.

I didn't post this for a replacement. One part venting, one part warning.

I dropped 4 bags of various lightstones. I had been saving up so I could sell them all and buy some upgrades on my armor. It was my small nest egg. It was just plat that I will get back eventually, but also disheartening to see it disappear because of connection problems.

I would trust any player above level 30-45 from the following guilds..
Kittens who say meow, azure guard, omni, europa
No specific order and of course take screenshots.. But head to EC and do a check for these people. From my understanding they're all good guys n' gals. just ask them if they can do a bag transfer for you and if not perhaps item transfer(s). The worst you can get is no. I mention these 4 specifically because they've been around for a long time and I don't see them getting negative rep on the forums. Plus if something did go amiss,. you can send your screenshots, logs, w.e to their guild upper management to sort it out. Which is heads and tails above being up s*** creek after a failed drop transfer.

Restart client often.

This is a good point. IF you decide to drop bag stuff, restart the client.

When you been logged in for awhile and have zoned multiple times, the chance of you getting kicked while trying to log back in again is higher.

Also, OP

If you did your drop transfer somewhere obscure and the items were not picked up by another player, the GMs will reimburse you.

Make a petition in the petition forums and you will get your items back eventually if they were not scooped by another player. Be sure to include what was dropped where and when.

Don't understand why people constantly bash DAP.

It's called "trolling." If you haven't figured it out yet, that's all we do here.

Either argue over insignificant details about the game, or offer advice and tips to others, then argue over the advice and tips others give. Welcome to p99 forums. :p

Pretty sure I've heard Sirken on stream say if you are dumb enough to drop it then you are smart enough to deal with losing it. Or something along those lines.

Aye, Sirken advised me to do this a few weeks back - crashed during a drop transfer and it was gone by the time I made it back online.

Be sure to include your account name as well, or better yet, read the sticky in the petition section to increase your chances of having your petition addressed the first time. That being said, I was told almost three weeks ago that the logs were going to be checked to see if it rotted or was scooped, haven't heard back yet.

Good luck!

My bags disappeared on a drop transfer with no npcs around. Didnt go link dead, they just poofed in the 2 mins it took to log over.

This was 2 years ago, but lord sirken finally reimbursed me. Took 8 months, but I did get over 200k of items back.

Good luck.

If your items are not picked up by another player and they just expire, there is a chance you can get reimbursement. It just takes time. Theres only 1 staff member at this time who has access to those logs. His plate is full :)

If you drop a bag, and log out, and some other person runs by and sees that bag with nobody around and picks it up... shits classic imo.
