View Full Version : So are Clickies good or what?

Noob question here--

As a Paladin, I've been told Deepwater Armor is what I'm gonna be saving up for in the future, but none of the pieces besides the chest and legs have stats on them.
They do, however, seem to be pretty high AC which I know to be a very good thing.
They also have clickable spells which you can start casting at level 45.

My general question is: Are clickable spells on items useful, or are the spells kinda "meh"?

For example, is the Deepwater Armor good because it has lots of AC or because of the clickables (or both)? Should I wait until 45 to buy pieces of it or is the AC alone good enough for now?

Input appreciated!

You can heal people ad infinitum with deep water helm. It's not efficient but it works. I would say clicking are super powerful lol.

Some of those deepwater clicks are useful and some arent really worth the time. Helm and bracer iirc are some of the more useful ones. Best outcome (but worst fashionquest) is probably mixing deepwater with stat++ gear.

Yep. I remember when I hit level 45 on Filbus and had the cobalt gloves and boots.

Cobalt boots have a very useful clicky. Strength of Kunzar, about +20 STR with 30 min duration. Now, compare that to the Cobalt gauntlets? Useless. Reckless strength, 10 second cast time for a +20 str buff that fades over 3 mins.

Okay, it's targetable, but it's totally useless. It's not like a 20 str buff is useful for powerleveling.

On the other hand, cobalt gaunts have great AC. So I kept wearing them anyway.

AC is very important after all!

Wear better stuff, keep the Deepwater bagged for the clickies. Win.

Ranger have some great clickies -
Tolans Bracer (summon arrows) - totally worth it, SUPER useful. Best clicky ever.
Tolans hat (sup camo) - very handy, for 500pp it's great.
Tolans Arms (baby druid DOT) - it's like 24 a tic, but don't laugh, its free damage and over a long bow kite it makes a big difference even on badass mobs.
Tolans gloves (snare ) - also super useful on long kits. Great clicky.
Tolans BP (Fay gate) - yeah, it's handy. But not required, and there's better stat BP's to get.
The rest of the Tolans set is a joke, although the legs (cancel magic) can be sorta useful for pulling.

But yeah, I usually just put them on long enough to use the clickies.

I watched a druid with the kunark arms clicky sit there for like 10 minuets and kill a warrior using only damage shield on himself to prevent the warrior for attacking him and out dpsing our healer by just maintaing the dot on him forever because nobody but the warrior was in pvp range of him. Was sad. But also kinda cool.

That sounds like one of the many pitiful demises of Hatespawn.

That reminds me: Wtb red Runed Blade.

Definitely recommend the DW Helm, I saw a trio in the Hole with the Paladin being the cleric just clicking DW Helm. Think it was Paladin / Rogue / Monk, was insanely efficient.

I've spent hundreds of days in a dwarven paladin's skin. What this guy says is the truth.

I'm L55 and unguilded. I still keep one DW bracer on most of the time given the cost for stats on many a DWF plate bracer. And I also carry the Helm at all times. I'm lucky enough to have netted a DW BP and it is still my only breastplate. Jasper may be 15p a stack, but the BP heals for almost three times as much as the helm for the same amount of time. I can still solo very dark blues using that.

Those clicks are powerful.

Oh and I also keep the armplates (banked) for farming. It's nice to have a mana-free pacify spell when you're using it on a room of 7 critters. I also still have the boots (Cancel Magic) in the bank for some reason. I guess I sometimes like to put on all the DW for a pic =).

TL;DR- I'm a long time paladin. I still carry the helm and bp at all times. Boots and armplates sometimes for purpose.

As a wizard yes I would die without my clicky sticks, shaman I don't use but have been told yes for canni, as cleric only good for buffing noobie's.

I struggle to see how this is possible.

Now, if you said "hand can be boots" this sounds more reasonable, particularly if it's an ogre hand we are talking about.

***Also doubtful it would be free as it would take a skilled tailor to do this too.

The DW Helm and Bracer are both really, really good.

The Helm is 700 hp per minute healed, mana-free. That's pretty damned huge as far as infinitely sustainable healing goes. With a slower you could actually main heal most XP group content with the Helm alone (it would get insanely repetitive, but it's possible).

The Bracer is probably even more underrated. It's a 6 second cast for a 3 second stun. So you can spam just your bracer and keep the mob stunlocked 50% of the time. Absolutely amazing against casters and in groups without a slower. Between the bracer, bash and well-timed casted stuns a good Paladin can interrupt 95% of spells. The difference that makes is huge in a place like Chardok or Seb with a lot of casters.

I have everything but the legs, and I have them bagged at all times. DW Helm - awesome for click heals that are reagentless. DW BP - Clicky symbol, I keep it on me at all times. Also, if I need to clicky heal faster than I can with DW Helm, then I do so. DW Vambraces - Pacify. I use when soloing almost every pull. DW Bracer - stun. It's awesome for first stun when pulling. Boots - I can keep manaless MR on myself. Why not? DW Gauntlets - If you're pulling something with a DS, click these first! DW Greaves - free STR buff, it isn't much, but can you cast one better on yourself?

Thanks for all the replies!

Looks like I'll have to keep my eyes open for certain pieces once I hit 45.
