I havnt played this in so long and want to give it a go any suggestions as I really don't remember much. I played Alb back then friar and paladin

game felt super slow and clunky, and that's just compared to EQ (lol)

also US time population was turrible

unforgiving. community is lets say... less than delightful. same problems as all mature freeshards. Top-Heavy, top guilds have a big advantage (RR in this case more than gear).

That being said, best PVP game of all time, and Uthgard is the best version you can get of it. Game was NOT meant for PVE. End-game is where its at, but tough to compete if ur new.

Battlegrounds are also fun, and plenty of scrubs/untwinked. Lot of fun as long as there are people there.

I have a 6L7 skald i havent played in a year. Prolly has some junk to help you guys out if your gunna give it a shot.

Nothing wrong with the server seems good to me but naturally you will have a disadvantage being new to the server somewhat and US times pop is around p99 pop at main US times for me anyway central...around 12-4am around 200-270 always people in start up guilds willing to give helpfull advice.

My crew-guild Insanity (http://herald.uthgard.net/herald.php?view=stats&p1=guild&p2=RPs&p3=DESC&p5=Guild&p6=Insanity), is still pretty active in Midgard. There seems to be action virtually around the clock, sometimes you have to "jumpstart the pvp" by letting the enemy know you're there (e.g. taking their keep back for your realm, will flash a server-wide message for all 3 realms that someone from some realm took "this keep" in "this zone."

Although our current (active mains') lowest level is 44, most of us have recently made lower lvl alts to try out casters for a change, when the rest of the guild isn't doing anything.

Our alt chars are: CapnCrunch Level 21 Spiritmaster and Stringer Level 26 Runemaster. If you're just starting up and looking for a chill non-elitist group of players to run around with, let me know if you want to group up sometime.

Well said! Our alts are now L30/31, but we're putting XP on pause shortly in order to conquer the first RvR zone!

For those who are not aware, claiming the keep (there is one per sub-50 rvr zone) for your realm, yields a 20% XP bonus - realmwide for the level range it allows entry. So....since the first zone, Braemar, allows levels 1-35 entry, that entire level range is granted 20% XP bonus when the keep belongs to your realm! Gives people incentive to go there earlier and help with getting it back from Albion's clutches (they love their pve....and almost always react to losing their xp bonuses!).

Although Stringer and CapnCrunch are levels 30 and 31 respectively, some of our friends are still in the lower lvl range. I'll provide a list of names for you guys to ask them for groups or to make groups with if you'd like!

Snnatch - L14 Warrior
Riy - L15 Berserker
Insanitys - L11 Spiritmaster
Mezu - L3 Healer

Once you reach L24+, you can come xp/pvp with our 30s. We'll try making some fraps vids of the action we participate in, although most of the time I get so excited I forget to toggle it on. Also, if you do not see those name on, just do a /who Insanity, there's a good chance we're on our mains if we're not on our alts.

I'm gonna start playing this shit again. The population looks drastically higher from last time I played. It used to get like 400 prime time, now it gets 1000, wtf. It's basically a DAoC live server now.

Should be able to download + patch from mythic directly then install the DAoC Portal stuff and update through the portal for Uthgard. If i remember correctly they fixed the issues with the newer versions of DAoC.

I think alot of people from here play on Midgard. As far as soloing goes, classic daoc was kind of like classic eq, classes worked alot better together. But if you got your mind set on soloing with a melee, I would roll with a skald. The skalds chants will keep the downtime to a bare minimum.

Dont get me wrong, almost any class can solo, about as good as a warrior can solo in eq, kill one mob and rest back up.

I play from time to time, can catch me on midgard 33 shaman named Cherp or a 33 skald named Ignacius
