Examples of the kinds of fish I am looking for include: Koada Cichlid, Hound Pike, Clockwork Koi, etc. They don't necessarily have to be those fish in particular, but they must be 8 unique fish. I will log on Ravager at 8:00PM CDT Saturday, July 15th on the shores of Inn Island in Ocean of Tears (#2 on the wiki map) for the hand-in.

I will be giving away some lesser prizes, too, EC Fatcat values from 1-4k, so bring some fish even if you don't think you can get the tunic. There is a 1 prize per person limit.

The way I figure, only one person can open a trade box with me at once, so the first person to put 8 different fish in it wins it.

If there aren't 8 unique fish, I'll simply cancel and wait for the next attempt.

I have a toon with max fishing for Cobalt Cod and I had no idea you could fish in Kedge or some of the other places on the list. Is it specified that the fish have to be "reeled in" and not the fish you loot like Rivervale trout? Using the looted fish seems like it would be cheating.

...I may have gotten most of those skill mods nerfed a while back because classic. (http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=254863) Otherwise there are only two fishing poles with a skill mod, both dropped on Odus somewhere.

I know there is the sirens grotto one that has EB and a 3% mod. Not sure if they stack as I have never done fishing... Is it like haste where only highest value is used?

Yeah, it's like haste as far as I know. Unfortunately all fishing poles can and will break at random as well...

Yeah, I gave a shout out to people in HHK last night and it seemed like they thought this was just another AoN / CoF Diggles thread.

I've known Ravager for years on this box. All he does at this point is log on and give stuff away. We were chatting a bit and he expressed his intention to do this contest. I swear by Roleplay that this is a real contest.

Sincerely hoping noobs and casuals take advantage of this awesome quest. I am not participating becuase, well, I already have a fungi :)

I presume they won't be no drop that get handed to me, but even if they are, what will happen is the trade box will open, I will verify 8 unique fish, /shout the winner, put the fungi in the trade box then hit trade. If it comes back to me, I'll just give it to the winner I announced. The only rule is 8 unique fish and one of them can't be fresh fish.

Not sure. Can the mage fish when it's in offhand? There's no visibility into whether or not the skill mod is applied so I can't tell you.

UPDATE: I reread my original post, and I think it is understandable, but the wording seemed a little ambiguous to me on this reading, so I want to clarify that when I say 8 Unique, I mean 8 different kinds of the special fish. For example, 8 individual (stacked or otherwise) of Clockwork Kois won't win it for you. I want to see that you fished from 8 different places (though if you get 2 different special fish from the same zone in zones that have more than one, that's acceptable).

If we're chucking out opinions on another persons contest, then why not make the fish have to be fresh - as in - you cant have them in a bag for over a day, as most here seem to be saying they already do. I did give some thought to this. My original vision was to do a scavenger hunt of some of the lesser known, but easy to get items in the game, then give clues once a a day about where I was and log on at the same time every day there, but it's summer and I'd hate to decline invitations because I promised strangers on an elf sim I'd be online. So I opted for something short and sweet.

My other idea, which I might do this winter, was to create some kind of passphrase and /em routine that someone would have to perform for me to win the prize, but the trick of it would be I'd only be playing an unnamed alt. It'd be funny if people started spamming everyone they saw in hopes of getting it. It's an interesting idea, I may fine tune it.

I get to choose so far as I want to see 8 different fish as I stated. But the first trade box that puts them in, gets it. I'm going to be very careful and deliberate about it when I log on to be as fair as possible. If it's you, grats! Everyone is welcome to compete for it. Even Swish.

Good luck explaining that to him, he doesn't grasp that. Actually it's funny because no one really seems to hate Baler. He just thinks they do.

Usually I just pop into a noob zone and do some off-the-cuff giveaways, but I learned from this and have some ideas for a good one this Winter.
