this due to firepots. There are still some people on p99 who are bound at firepots. Despite it no longer being possible to bind a character there. As per live at the time.

Honestly the firepot have been replaced with DaP. We can get you anywhere you want to go most times of the day. Bind in WC or RV depending on class.

Td binding was disabled to prevent people from traveling silly fast, thereby shrinking the size of the world and rendering port classes less useful. then, in all their wisdom, they made PoP books to do the exact same thing. didnt need to not bind in TD anymore.

TD binding was still a thing in january 2013 when I started on Filbus. I befriended a human enchanter named Skelaw who told me about how he bound at 'firepots' and it let him do the stein of moggok quest super fast for the vast fortune of 400pp.

I still have my mage bound at firepots. He is just a transfer bot these days after I created my rogue. Poor guy is still level 52 and just sits half naked at Firepots waiting for a call to ferry items and nothing more.
