I would not normally do this but I'm a bit perturbed by the lack of common decency. After hearing of Failethe KSing a friend 3 times during my gem merchant run (the start of this log excerpt), I decided to keep an eye out while going back to farming. I was called "faggot" by Failethe after calling them out for an attempted KS and successful KS of 2 Rathe Mountain hill giants that I had FTE on.
Rather than try and get mods involved in something like this (or do the work of prepping the video for share), I'd rather just put these logs up (better proof anyway) in hope that Failethe and others will think twice about acting like this.

Jasekn is Failethe's pet, Vartik is mine.
The cuts are where I removed a bunch of unrelated DPS spam (Yes, I have and can provide the full, unedited log file)

For real. I pick a few of these out while doing chores. If you were going to rage the hill that hard, why not do it in OOT or something?

I would not normally do this but I'm a bit perturbed by the lack of common decency. After hearing of Failethe KSing a friend 3 times during my gem merchant run (the start of this log excerpt), I decided to keep an eye out while going back to farming. I was called "faggot" by Failethe after calling them out for an attempted KS and successful KS of 2 Rathe Mountain hill giants that I had FTE on.
Rather than try and get mods involved in something like this (or do the work of prepping the video for share), I'd rather just put these logs up (better proof anyway) in hope that Failethe and others will think twice about acting like this.

I would not normally do this but I'm a bit perturbed by the lack of common decency. After hearing of Failethe KSing a friend 3 times during my gem merchant run (the start of this log excerpt), I decided to keep an eye out while going back to farming. I was called "faggot" by Failethe after calling them out for an attempted KS and successful KS of 2 Rathe Mountain hill giants that I had FTE on.
Rather than try and get mods involved in something like this (or do the work of prepping the video for share), I'd rather just put these logs up (better proof anyway) in hope that Failethe and others will think twice about acting like this.

2: yes, that is very obvious. This is not a rant or a flame, its just my log and a request that people not act like jerks or push around the lower levels.

Yeah, I heard the OOT nerf was a necessity since DBG won't allow for Green99 or Discord, so the pp farm was slowed to prolong gimp server status.

I guess that makes sense. I make most of my plat from rolling on drops anyway. As an SK, i like that i can farm a little money for peridots and buy them in rathe while im only going to be on for a few or fd afk a lot.

I expected HG's to become a lot more popular, but 60 shaman's? I can't imagine this averages out to even 500pp per hour with the competition. Not to mention the shaman is using a 6 second cast time spell for FTE, no wonder he has to KS everyone.

Some shaman's farm some of the hardest mobs in the game for plat, others camp level 35 hill giants I guess.

Public humiliation and shaming IS the first line of proper punishment on p99, you did nothing wrong here. This appropriately named "Failethe" needs to be recognized and scoffed at forever after.

The fact they used the douche argument, "we hit the mob at same time!" excuse shows just what a POS player they really are. As we all know, one spell, one attack WILL land first not "at the same time" and once it's recognized as to who hit it first, the other player should concede and desist attacking.

This being said, it is important to take the second line of defense, which is to notify guides. Let me explain this part clearly: If that douchebag reports you for KSing, even though clearly they are the ones doing so you just might get punished by a guide not seeing your side of the situation. All it takes is one encounter of a mob, and if the guide sees you as the douchebag, YOU will get banned with no recourse of action except to eat a week long no-EQ suspension. YOU need to file a petition, and let the guides know that this douchebag is KSing people. If you do not, your side of the story may not get told.

My only other suggestion is to post this in RnF where it really belongs. Afterall, it is a rant, yes? Let the forumquesters subject this "Failthe" to a proper elf forum flogging.

As for being a newb, yes I am one. I think I've played EQ for about 3 months total, and just came back from a 3-4 month hiatus a week or so ago. If you didn't realize it, I spent pretty much 100% of my time grouping to hit 60, I do not have an alt, and now that I'm high lvl I wanted to try farming pure plat. Unfortunately, seafuries just got nerfed and I am completely sick of sebilis, so I decided to do HG. Feel free to offer suggestions of other plat farming spots for a 60 sham with meh gear.

I also really haven't tried to mess with logs at all as of yet - I just follow who gets aggro first typically on HG. Guess you'd have to look at logs to be certain but I'm going to be honest, I haven't done so. Feel free to teach a newb how to get some combat logs so they look nice. I've never really had to compete for mobs, so this is new to me.

So on to this guy - I am camping HG, he logs on. Proceeds to stand next to me and say something snarky. First HG, I clearly get first hit, he proceeds to attack it and then uses HARM TOUCH to steal the kill. That kinda pissed me off, but whatever.

Next HG, this guy stands next to me again, we both hit the HG at same time - I have no idea who got first hit in the parser, but I think it was my dog. Either way, pretty much same time hit. I burn it down with sham dd nuke i just memmed and then we go at it. So that's it.

Guy threatens to post a video online, proceeds to do so. Guess there are some flames. Look, I try to be civil at HG, and most people I haven't had a problem with. It's not like I'm KSing left and right. As for plat efficiency, I've been able to get 600p/hr when contested, probably if not contested could ramp that up to 750p/hr. It's not bad plat. It's better than CE on average, though worse than king on average. I did all the numbers, HG isn't top tier plat but its solid. Furthermore, its nice to do if you don't have a lot of time or are back and forth a lot (baby). I'm also trying to save up for a torpor, because being a poor shammy means I'm not op. I dont have epic, JBB, or multiple of my high end spells. Just trying to get some plat so I can actually complete my class.

There's nothing that guy posted that counts as anything besides a random FTE dispute which is -going to happen- in a highly contested plat farm zone. If he proved there was a prolonged period of harassment, like being purposely KSed over 20 or 30 minutes, then.. maybe. But seriously, what, two fights are being shown here? I had spent a few weeks on and off hunting HGs. Not sure why I stayed around that long since it can be rather tedious when a lot of folks are there and even the "level appropriate" experience is pretty lousy.

That said, not once have I witnessed arguments over KSing or FTE issues. Seems the seafury nerf has caused Rathe to become a more toxic environment, which is a shame since HG cash is quite overrated unless you have the hill to yourself (which was rare enough before).

Find your Eqclient.ini file, search "LOG=FALSE" change it to "LOG=TRUE'. Download GamParse. If you're planning to farm ~300k at HG's you're going to be miserable and probably piss a lot of people off, farm literally anything else or join a guild that helps with epics/chance of Torpor (not sure if Anon already does this)

Hey man, yeah being ridiculously high level and killing faster means potential for more kills, but still..

I find it highly unlikely the shaman was able achieve proper FTE on 75% of all spawns while contested on that hill. Claiming that when uncontested he only receives a 25% increase in revenue. I'm considering that he admitted to using a 6 sec spell to engage, or just by sending in a pet.. that's all i'm saying.. there must have been plenty of "we engaged at the same time moments" with this method of pulling... who knows though... I wouldn't imagine he's only been up against people experiencing here. Most players know it's a terrible place to EXP if they are serious about EXP.

Contested really depends - if there is another 60 there then yea pp/hr might drop to 400 or something and be bad. But if there are just a few lvl 40s, they take 1 HG and then run off the mountain so they don't die to aggro, so I still get 70-80% of HG instead of a perfectly even split. Unfortunately there aren't more HG spawns. However, I do kill broog whenever he is up, so you could say I'm doing a bit of a service in that way.

I would say that the shaman's estimate of getting FTE on 70%+ of the HGs is correct. Besides everything else, i was actually kinda impressed with thier ability to lock the hill down so hard.

With that said, this whole situation was due to the OP baiting for this exact thing to happen. The logs do not show the whole picture and the fact that petitions did not happen will explain that. I 100% am not saying fail was right but it was an intense situation that was created to make a troll happy.

This was not "an intense situation" as casperonacid put it. This was KSing of some hill giants. That's not a big deal in and of it self. Eh that's a pretty grey area.... sometimes its fun to try something your class/level really shouldn't be doing just to see if you can. Nor are all classes created equally.

When I was leveling up my druid there was a ranger "Quadding" otters in CS , with the bow from Wuoshi (procs a low level quad nuke). While it was entirely possible for him/her to do it and kill the otters having no problems in doing so several times it did take her quads almost literally nearly 3x or more the amount of time it would take a Druid of efficient level to pull and dump their mana bar and kill a single quad pull of the otters.

But seeing as she was able to kill her quads with no issues (other than it taking a long time relying on procs from the bow) I don't really see anything wrong with it, because thats just what their class is capable of in that situation. Is it silly, inefficent and entirely impractical compared to what others classes can do? absolutely. But they are just playing their class and trying to challenge themselves in their own special ranger way...

Dude, nice point. Sometimes people get so focused on the size of the meat and totally forget about the buns!

Depending on the size and type of the meat - the volume of the buns, texture of the buns can really set the meat off quite nicely.

also, glad to see all the appreciation out there for good buns. they a important consideration and something i pay special attention too. I try to keep mine light and fluffy. dont mind them getting squished once they paired with sausages, but there little more depressing than a package of squished buns. you don't even need open it to know they squished usually.
