Hello folks! hope everyone is doing alright today, i decided i'd come back to Everquest my favorite game of old time since i was a teenager and start it out with the P1999 but i keep getting the You Cannot Attach A Debugger While Playing Project 1999... i have no idea what this means :\ I did follow the instructions on the project1999 website on how to install... I installed Titanium, replaced the files with the P99filesV45, then i removed all the files/.txt files i was told to delete, Tried running Titanium Launch.bat as administrator, also tried using winEQ and it gives me the error " Windows cannot find 'eqgame'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again " I browsed google a little bit the answer to this problem, found a post on here with a bunch of different solutions... Not sure if im doing the right solution or not, but i got Everquest installed into my Program Files(86x) sorry if this has been asked a bunch of times. Dont know where to start

Yeah i got the same thing when I installed AVG antivirus so I uninstalled it and EQ ran fine again. Something about the way certain antiviruses scan your system makes EQ think you're running something they don't want you too. I'm not technical but it's definitely AV related

I dunno if you tried this already, but I had the same issue with Avast few months back, but I added an exemption in my Anti-Virus software and its been running fine ever since.

p99 runs backdoor software to check your mac addres and to make sure you aren't running hacks. Not surprisingly this looks like a virus

Add exclusions to your Real Time and Scheduled Scans for your AntiVirus to prevent it from reading the game's memory.

Anything that hooks into the eqgame.exe process will look like a 'debugger' / 'hack'

Do what PabloEdvardo says and it will let you start the game. I got the debugger message and made an exception for the game file and it started up as normal.

Pablo sums it up pretty well. Most anti-viruses now-a-days do scans of launching and running programs. Either on the P99 anti-client manipulation code or the anti-virus itself you will probably run into an issue if you don't set exemptions for EQ in the anti-virus.
