Start Iksar or level to 60?

When Kunark gets released here in a month or so are you going to either:

A) Level to 60

or

B) Start a new Iksar and level it

Which will you put the most emphasis on?

Once I have that it will be even easier to powerlevel my girlfriend who doesn't talk and likes to autofollow me around when she starts her iksar. By the way, if I fill out an IP exemption on march 24th could you guys grant it before you patch in kunark? I'll cross post this in every forum just in case.

why do i feel like the top guilds are going to have loot such as fungi on 24/7 lockdown, much like frenzy today? normal players can either pay 100k+ for one, or get one when velious comes out....maybe

frenzy is easily solo'd. Fungi isnt.

IKS get regen, swimming at start, night vision, and AC bonus. They also forage. Downside, everything hates them. They inarguably make the best monks and necs; one of the best, if not best, wars and sk's come velious; and best shaman unless you plan to use Kunark bracers forever on your Troll.

Iksars get an in-built AC boost which stacks with the natural Monk AC boost. They also get faster health regeneration, infravision and the ability to forage (although this ability is capped). They also start with 100 skill in swimming. Because of all these bonus abilities they do slightly less damage than Humans at their full power. They are generally killed on sight though in all cities but Cabilis, and level significantly slower than Humans.

Go enchanter. Infinitely more fun than a cleric (IMO).

I'd say Ogres make better overall Shaman, statwise and based on frontal stun immunity. But the different is very slight.

With the weigh limit, a negative ac hit for weight above 15 at level 1 and ending at 25 at level 60 it would be very unwise to roll a monk as your primary character. This is in itself what made monks a pain to play. They can't haul around loot, they can't haul around coin for rezzes.

I played a monk on live till GoD and I can assure you that a monk is a fantastic secondary character. But never retire your primary if you plan on using a monk. Your dps is adequate but not superior to nearly all other dps. Even a warrior can put out near monk damage. Every class is nearly a better role for DPS because they bring SOMETHING else.

For those claiming that monk=rogue dps, no way if the rogue is a hero and skills up poisons.

Monk is a fantastic "wanderer" style class. Self sufficient, mostly. A great partner. A monk is powerful alone or added to 1 or 2 other players. But his power is diminished among more people because dps becomes less of concern at a higher body count.
