Race and Religion Re-Assignment

We all know modern MMO's sell out and you can swap server, race, even haircut for a nominal fee! The beauty of P99 is that it truly is classic and not everything was perfectly balanced. That being said I've seen so many people regret the way they started their question or ask for advice on the age old questions Iksar vs. Human Monk, should Cleric worship Tunare?, Iksar vs. Ogre Shaman, and every other crazy class/race/religion/face question!

So, knowing what you know now what would you change about your characters?

I would do the following:
1) Gnome Wizard would remain gnome for life best class/race in world.
2) Halfling Rogue would be gnome.
3) High Elf Enchanter would be gnome.
4) Human Monk would be gnome okay maybe iksar if no gnome available.
5) Tunare Half Elf Bard would be Agnostic gnome. Okay half elf can work if no gnome available.
6) Female Iksar Warrior would be Male gnome.
7) Wood Elf Druid would be gnome. Okay really halfling if no gnome available.

What about everyone else?

I would change my Iksar Shaman to Troll. In the end they look the same (Same bear form), they have the same Regen, and a troll would be able to use a JBB.
No, I would NEVER make my Shaman an ogre.

Everything else I'm pretty happy with.

Reminds me when I was trying to figure out what race to go with on my rogue.

I told my pal I was going to go with female barbarian, he said "why, more str?" I said "no, bigger boobs."

I ended up going with a human rogue, and haven't looked back. Human Rogue of Innoruuk, no less!

Good choice. All rogues should be evil IMO. We have a tool set to bypass any faction issues and randomly getting chased out of town by red con hostiles is way more fun than every NPC tipping their figurative fedora and telling you, 'M'lady.' Agnostic wood elf was a BAD choice and I'd go Inny DE in a heartbeat given the chance to switch it up.

I think a death/harm touch one-use (but rechargeable) item like that would be an awesome gnomish tinkering recipe.

Not that the devs could add something like that as custom content one day or anything ...

I considered DE also, but figured human of an evil deity might present more interesting faction experiences. A DE would probably be welcome in evil cities 100%, so I wanted to see how far an evil human could go into the evil cities. I have not ventured to them yet, but so far going to the "good" race cities I have mixed reactions from their denizens.

The only evil city I have ventured to is Neriak, she is KOS to the cleric guild oddly enough who worship Inny... Yet, it seems all other factions tolerate her in Neriak!

Then in FP, nearly everyone glowers at me making my faction very tenuous at best with FP. Any killings of a good FP faction I am sure will knock me into KOS with them.

Dwarfs HATE me, except for the rogue guild in Kaladim and then some of the civilian dwarfs in BBM tolerate me...

Most of the wood elves tolerate me too, they glower at me, I didn't check druid guild in wood elf city yet not sure but seems all wood elves tolerate me fine.

High elves, they seem to only glower at me too! I stayed away from their pally/cleric guilds though so not sure but their guards are not KOS to me.

Anyway, every city seems to have a different scenario regarding my faction as a human rogue of Inny so it has made things more interesting to me.

I think you should delete Filbus of Nothing, remake him as Filbus of Rallos Zek and take him to the top again. :D

Think Inny DEs start off threateningly to Paineel. Welcome in Grobb / Oggok afaik. And Iksars hate everyone. Evil humans have a KoS lite experience, but most people can stand you.

I ran some tests and found lots of stuff that should kill a half elf warrior of innoruuk don't and vice versa.

Incidentally the paineel starting factions seem to be off. They seem to take a stronger dislike to regular humans than they ought to.

iirc Paineel and Erudin both KOS my human rogue, think I went there while back then again maybe I mix up my alts heh. But, pretty sure my human inny rogue was KOS to both Erudite cities. Weird.

Back in the day I always wished I could be an Ogre Monk. The kick animations would be incredible.

If we're speaking realistically here, I do wish my level 49 human monk were an iksar.

Human Paladin - i would keep the same, although I must admit i always dream of being a tunarian high elf with a cat helm.

Barbarian Shaman - I would keep the same. He clearly doesn't have some of the added benefits of the other races but he's easily the most handsome.

Wood elf Rogue - I would keep the same, he fits my head canon perfectly of an outsider of his people.

Dark elf SK - I would keep the same, this combo has always been one of my favorite since I was kid.

Actually, I liked the way EQ2 handled it. It was pretty cool to take on a full alignment change quest that would then allow you to switch to the opposite alignment class options (DE Ranger, DE Swashbuckler, wood elf brigand, etc.).

I would love to change my troll shaman to a barb shaman following The Tribunal.

The reaon I have not rerolled is I have max true spirit faction and I have some costly spells memed.

I would love a race change pot or and a long quest to change god's added as custom content.

I would change my Enchanter to High-Elf. I spend all of my time in Gnome illusion, so the horrible look of High-Elf isn't as big of a deal as I imagined it would be at character creation and the extra +20 base CHA would allow for more +HP gear where I currently have +CHA gear.

Also would be great to have a Mask of Tinkering on my bard so that I could spend all my time on my Bard in Gnome Illusion, too. I guess at least Halfling Illusion will be available for Bards soon-ish, but just not comparable to Gnome really.

hahaha I guess grass is always greener on the other side. I rolled HE for the extra total Cha+Int back in Kunark when +20 in stats was a bigger deal. I hoped gnome illusion would be good enough but I still regret it haha. I'm not really min maxing that char and he's sat as a Naggy/vox alt for a year +.

For bard, I would love a Mask of Tinkering so much. I have a feeling I'll leave my bard in chardok for weeks and weeks trying to get the damn halfling mask if i ever do get it

Then maybe my male barb shaman into a female ogre cazic shaman.

Fluff aside, reality hits and people would change based on weapons/items that their characters can use... there'd be more half elf paladins, for example.

Agree on iksars having iksar skeleton pets, that would have been a nice addition.
