View Full Version : Beads soon to enter 200k+ area

While im a firm believer the Manastone is overpriced in auctions lately and will correct hard when they release final patch and announce the timeline is finished,
I am suspecting the beads will be intact and even go 200k+
The reason is, any announcement that the timeline is done with no further updates, will give markets confirmation that beads remain the same effective aggroing pull mechanism forever on p1999 in high demand exp/raid zones.
Such a final announcement should take the beads to the 200k+ area and dont be surprised if you see Beads = Manastone at that point!

This is only speculation by the way. So dont take it as something 100% certain :)

Manastone has to be the single most overpriced item in the game.
I have never seen anyone using it regularly. Mostly camped click clerics in MM who stone up some mana after HB'ing their alt's group (mostly for showing off obviously).
The tales of clerics soloing Guk with the stone are tales. It's painfully slow and duoing with a halfway decent enchanter is at least 10x the exp, 20x the fun, and costs nothing.
100% status symbol, an expensive one for sure.
Can someone chime in about actual real world (sic) uses of the stone that don't suck and give an actual advantage? I'd love to use it for something else than just occasionally stare at it and think "LOL it looks pretty".
FWIW on EZ server, everyone had a manastone. It was used to break roots on yourself (DD breaks root even if you nuke yourself). But HP pools there are larger so the 60hp DD is nothing.
Manastones are junk. Not worth the steam off my piss.
That said i will pay 250k for one right now.

Subscribing to OPs threads pays off more than subscribing to Financial Times. Good work OP with the market analysis

I've seen guild cleric accounts use them to speed up recoveries, especially tag teamed with torpor or cheal, but beyond that it is basically a rolex.

Why I never see druids stoning up at rings or anywhere really? Or what is the use? Honest question.

I've been here 7 years. Only seen a cleric use one once and it was for what you mentioned Izmael. He was getting mana up to buff people in SolB.

So many people in this thread talking about clerics and manastones who don't realize they are for Druids.
Manastone + fungi tunic + velious bp means you're meditating while running.

OP needs to work in tandem with Skarlorn on these threads. With Skarlorn's forum cred you could really make these threads cement said inflated prices.
As it stands, with only your sponsorship alone, the inflated prices seem to last only a few weeks to a month then go back to normal.
***Also, I have a couple "rare" items stocked up which I am hoping go up in price. If you guys can team up and work together, I'd tip you handsomely to inflate these items' worth. ty!

Schnick is a master at this. The way the thread is ostensibly about beads, but he inceptions us to talk about the spare manastones he is desperate to liquidate at best price ;).

AoN actually most overpriced item. :o
Agree with this. Besides fashionquest is there some super secret benefit of skel illusion? Using it with beads/probes to bug through locked doors in like 2 zones? I get that it's really useful for PVP but this isn't a PVP server.
As far as Manastone, I don't think I've ever seen someone using one outside of the tunnel. People say druid/wiz can bind at Kunark/Velious xp camp, port to WC, use it, and gate back but I've never seen someone doing that. Probably could buy bard PL 1-60 for cheaper and level a lot faster if that's all you were using it for.

AoN is instant click from inventory to reset cool down and cheese recast timer for spell slot 1. Usable by any class/race from level 1 in any zone and without a target. It also shrinks ogres and trolls.
It's one of the most versatile items in the game.

So it does the same thing as the completely free Star of Eyes except it saves you from hitting F1 and how often are you really in a hurry to refresh spells without a target anyways.
I will gladly help anyone get a Star of Eyes for the low low price of 25k.

AoN is a buff icon too, which is useful for mitigating dispels.

So is a Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring at 1% of the cost.
Manastone only works in the old-world zones. Not worth the 200k+ price at all.

Apologies, Alanus (name violates naming policy btw Al ;)).
I mean to say "in addition to being inventory cast self targeted instaclick gcd refresher with almost 0 stacking issues it is also a buff icon to mitigate dispel effects"
The earring is not inventory clickable, so you have to sacrifice stats from a better item to wear it and doesn't stack with strength of nature (boo hoo).

Because being a port bot isn't a good source of income and mana stones cost a lot.

Manastone sort of useful, not 200k worth.
AoN barely useful, not worth price at all. GCD cooldown, buff slot, yawn. All easily handled otherwise.

Yes it does the same thing except it requires a target, isn't tradeable, doesn't modify your faction, doesn't change your model, doesn't remove your nameplate, and doesn't give you a trash debuff for dispel protection. It also can't be equipped by casters for extra magic resist.
They're basically the same item.

Everything it does besides changing faction in classic cities can be done for at least 345k cheaper. Can shrink 14,000 times for same price. Can get +10MR All/All neck without the -100HP from a Wolfs Eye Velium Necklace for a few hundred plat. Can turn name plates off for free in Alt+O.
There's a reason it was never nerfed, and not only wasn't nerfed it was made way easier to obtain when it was changed from dropping off 1 God mob to dropping off 3 level 55 mobs that spawn every 3 days. It has to be the most expensive item on the server that doesn't drop from a mob with a 7 day timer.

You forgot to do an analysis of how many times you could hire a necromancer to follow you around and cast Ignite Bones to put you on skelly faction.
And you were so close to getting the word out to everyone that there are alternative ways to obtain watered-down versions of each of the individual effects of AoN.

Yesterday I was searching forums for the super secret benefits of an AON, and saw an old thread asking the same thing and noticed you've been having this same argument since 2015. The only difference is, in that thread like 20 people were telling you you were wrong it was just mostly just a vanity item instead of just me.
Keep up the good fight, another two years and you might convince someone.

These changes arent worth 345k. Anyone who buys an AoN is a moron, or just has so much money they don't really care what they buy anymore.

ware the bubble. with the seafury nerf pp influx gonna tank. meanwhile top guilds getting lot more efficient at low number kills leaning way more on clicks resultin in much fatter recharge card bills. watch prices plummet as the platinum coin strengthens.

I agree, I wouldn't buy one at that price.
I have only provided the answer to the question of why many players place a high value on the Amulet of Necropotence and argued that the existence of alternative methods of obtaining its individual effects has no bearing on its versatility. Neither of these are the same thing as claiming it's worth 350k.

The answer to the question hasn't changed. I'll give you my permission to pretend I'm emotionally invested in your opinion if it makes you feel better, though.
For your own sake, just try to keep in mind that there is a difference between understanding why other people make the choices they do and wanting to make those same choices for yourself. To you, the AoN is not worth what sellers want for it. The only thing this means is that you shouldn't buy one. To some players, the item is worth the price tag. The important thing to realize is that we all have different value systems and that when two people disagree on value, it isn't a requirement that one of them be wrong.
Based on the level of comprehension you've exhibited so far, I'm not all that hopeful you'll be able to understand this idea, but I still will feel good knowing I did what I could to make you a better person.

I love this statement, it's so true and goes for tons of topics on these forums too. So many people simply cannot grasp that a race, class, or item is best for them, but not others and vice versa.
I have these kinds of discussions with other players weekly and it grinds me down when someone tells me that a certain race/class is "min/max" and "the best" when in actuality it's best for them.
Still looking for another AoN will pay 305k
Will also pay 250k for Manastone.
Seems to be a good thread to be a buyer of these overpriced items.
