Greetings Project 1999 Community, I am Draconite, 60th Warlord of Cazic-Thule. I would like to extend a weekly invitation to everyone 55+ on Blue to join us Fridays at our new times 7 p.m. EST (5 p.m. PST) and Saturday at 1 p.m. EST (10 a.m. PST) for an informal West ToV raid. The raids are held at the exit of West ToV just behind where Lendiniara the Keeper spawns. If you know your way to the exit then you can meet us there, or you can wait at the ToV entrance for a CoTH.

West ToV is Claws of Veeshan faction Wurms and Drakes which drop Kael quest armor. If you are curious to see how the armors line up to each other there is a useful post here: https://wiki.project1999.com/Velious_Class_Armor_Comparisons

WARNING: You will lose faction with CoV, If you don’t wish to affect your hard earned Skyshrine faction, you can zone and run back to camp as the mob is near death to clear faction. It is not a requirement to have Giant Faction to attend.

The Loot procedure is fairly simple. We use a Pick 3 Greed style which allows you to pick any 3 drops from the West ToV armor loot table, any slot, any type of armor, but you can only pick 1 Major item (Chest or Legs) and 2 Minor items. If the item you picked drops then you and others who picked the item also roll for the item /ran 1000. If you are the only one who picked it, then the item defaults to you. You do not need to be able to use the item in order to choose it, nor does the item need to go to your character. You may attend and participate for friends or alts. Since the loot style is greed, once you win the item is yours and it is your responsibility to make sure the item goes to whomever you want it to go. Any item that is not picked is free rolled by everyone who has sent me their choices.

Some of the nice drops include:

https://wiki.project1999.com/Warlord%27s_Breastplate

https://wiki.project1999.com/Robe_of_the_Invoker

https://wiki.project1999.com/Spirit_Caller%27s_Greaves

https://wiki.project1999.com/Golden_Star_Pants

The procedure of the raid is very similar to Halls of Testing, however West mobs are easier than HoT. They do not rampage, have less hit points, and are lower in level. Some mobs will gate, some will CH, red wurms will enrage, but the rest will flee. Resistance gear is a must!

Since this raid is informal, we will be relying upon attendance. We can do West with as little as 10 people if we have all the right classes, but unless we have those core classes we cannot attempt. At a minimum we need at least 2 clerics, a mana pumper (necro, mage, enchanter, bard) a dedicated slower (ench/shaman) a torp shaman, Any warrior 55+ or any 60 tank, two FD classes for pulls and two DPS classes. We will meet every week at ToV and if we do not have attendance we will disband at 7:30.

You will be responsible for getting to WToV and past Sontalak. Once you are in ToV there will be a coth to camp available. I highly suggest you move your participating characters to ToV in anticipation of the raid. If you are KoS to Sontalak you will need to ask a druid to harmony him or die nearby and have someone drag/rez you at ToV entrance. Some have brought multiple characters to West ToV in order to fill in needed roles, and that has been a great help. Bring your friends, especially your cleric friends, and leave your guild tag at the door. We will see you this Friday at 8pm!

Also: We use Discord for voice and announcements, download the application and I can send you an invite to the server.

These pick up raids are awesome especially for those of us who don't have time to dedicate to a guild. How often are these ran? Thanks for doing these!

The goal is every week. Building up the player base so that it can function without me in case I am unable to attend for the night. I intend to be there until my whole body is covered in blue metal, which will probably be at least a year.

Kael armor HYPE

Guys Kael armor is some of the best in the game, outside of top end raids. But to make it even more special, most if it has unique graphics so you can win at Fashion Quest. The dragon faction hits are not that hard. Last raid I stayed at warmly even after taking 20-30 hits. Giant faction is not hard for turnins. You can kill green dwarves in Great divide for their heads and turn them in. About 3-5 backpacks of heads should get you close to Kromzek ally.

It is very helpful for helping get casters and preists closer to their soft cap, as well has having godly amounts of AC for tanks.

So far I only know warrior gear is blue, cleric is purple, shadow knight is red, bard is red, assuming Paladin is yellow? It will be interesting to see what textures and colors come from this as I am unfamiliar.

To add to the Kael armour hype, here are some spoilers on p99 AC system from dev Haynar:

we use a softcap system, not a hardcap based system.

Warriors get a 45% return above softcap.

Adding a shield increases ur softcap.

On live there was no reason to exceed 289 worn AC, but on P99 for tanks there is no reason not to!

Kael Armour! All of the AC!

whups! forgot to include link!

It's old, but from the tone of the staff comments (and my recollection of patch notes) there is nothing to suggest any plan to revamp the system as it stands.

Dependent on race, it's bright blue for most paladin races but, same as the royal velium armor (http://wiki.project1999.com/Royal_Velium_Frosted_Armor), it shows as green for high elves (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=242149). Warrior's have the coolest set I've seen so far, faded slate blue. It'll be cool to see what the others look like as there aren't very many old screenshots of them for each race.

Bump. Raid starting in 25min. Sontalak is not at ToV entrance or on track. If he magically reappears, we have harmony for those who are KoS.

Not our best night. Lacking monks except for Raev and had a couple wipes due to aggro issues. Still we pushed on and were able to down about 6! (lol) Good luck tomorrow everyone!

Grats to Draconite on finally winning something...plate arms. They were the only drop in one of if not the hardest starts in WToV. Saturday morning is still on. We will see how many show and go from there. There is a ranger parked outside to harmony Sontalak if need be and it sounds like we will have a mage to coth again. Thanks to everyone for coming out, especially Raev who died too many times thanks to me/shit luck. It was fun even when it wasn't. Also, thanks to whichever necro it was that ignite bonesed a white wurm so it would appear as a red when we arrived. It didn't work, but we appreciate the creativity.

Could've sworn it was upwards to about 10 kills. Next time I'll keep logs running.

It definitely felt like 10. We had the white wurm gate on us which should have been a kill, then those two final pulls that we had to zone.

Saturdays at 1pm est is PERFECT for me, great news you’ve decided to expand :) I’m unable to join this weekend due to other obligations but will make it an aim to be there from next Saturday and onwards.

Bump. We're beginning to set up again. Already have a small group forming. Will see if there's enough, though last night's earthquake might mean some people are catching up on sleep now. We'll be hanging around 20-30minutes after the hour to see if we have enough for WToV. If not, I'm going to call it so everyone can go xp and what not.

Raid has been called off. Next open raid will be Friday, November 3rd. I'm open to giving Saturdays one more attempt, but not interested in wasting people's time, it's better spent elsewhere in the game / in real life. Thanks to those who came out. Sorry, we simply lacked the heals this time around. Enjoy your Halloween.

I suggest giving it a few weeks and try Saturday again then. Possibly even with no preceding Friday?

Sonderbeast

It surprises me that there was a small turn out today, the majority of players said that Saturday morning (evening euro) would be best for them if not both. Then again there are plenty of trolls and people with opinions on the forums that don't have any intention on participating.

We established a Saturday raid because there was so much feedback for it. If you said that Saturday was a better time for you, then you should show up for it. We'll keep Saturday alive for now, but if there is low attendance the I will happily reduce it back to just Friday night. Less work :D

It was a slightly anomalous Saturday though. People burning out on Earthquake (which I missed as I've been packing up ready to road trip across Europe again, whoop whoop)!

I think it is best to try to keep this schedule up for a few weeks so that we have some semblance of consistency. This was the first week since we changed the time so I think reverting it back so soon would cause problems. Maybe the earthquake was the cause for low attendance, or maybe it was just a brigade of red players trying to ruin the fun. In either case, we should wait and see.
