Halls of Testing Farm LFM
Level 60's only. We are looking to get together 18 people to farm Halls of Testing at the zone out. Many of us have done HoT countless times, and we are looking for more! Previous HoT experience is not required.

Ruleset
A google form will be provided that each player must fill out for every farm.
You will be able to select any 3 armor pieces. When an item drops, only people on the list for that item roll. If no one rolls the item goes to greed and everyone can roll. Once you have won an item on your list it is taken off your list. Only players in Discord will be able to roll on loot. You can only roll once per item, but you may list an item more than once if you want to win it more than once. There is no restriction on what you do with items you win - loot it on any character, give it to whoever you want, do whatever you want with it.

Halls of Testing Ideal Raid Composition
4 clerics
4 rogues
2 monks
2 warriors
1 knight
1 bard
1 druid
1 mage
1 shaman
1 enchanter

Requirements
Be level 60. If you need to AFK put up an AFK tag. We will be using Discord, and you are required to be in it with audio on. You are not required to have a mic. If you suck at your job expect to be replaced.

Interested?
We will only have so many slots, and for some classes we will only be accepting one person. Contact Naethyn in game or send a PM. The first farm will be in the second week of November - I'll keep this post updated with slots that have been filled and an exact date.

Any idea what the time slot will look like? Week day/weekend?

I would like to come with my shaman, Plush, if the time slot lines up with my play time. Doing HoT with guild a bunch lately but having really bad luck on chain drops.

1 shaman

Gonna be a real busy shaman I'd say 2 would be a lot less stressful

Ill most likely be busy whenever this happens but if you need a shaman I'd be down

Update
The response has been very good. So far we have 16 people signed up for this. Anyone who has posted an interest in this thread I've added to the list along with those who sent private messages. Right now we can use 1 more cleric, and 1 knight or a 5th rogue. There are still spots open for other classes, because of scheduling.

Q/A
Is anyone invited? Can I bring my 60 necro? How will you combat AFKs that seem to constantly plague HoT raids?

This is not an open raid. We don't require any necromancers. The idea behind this is to bring 3 groups of players ready to play. We'll farm HoT end to end for 4-6 hours and then call it a day. Anyone who isn't picking up their slack will be noticed.

I have not - it will happen soon. When the Discord server is setup everyone there can help pick the best date/time.

So this is a private event? Aww.

Anybody putting together their own pan-guild raid is free to configure things as they see fit; dependent only upon the continued support of those who they'll be leading.

The leader is under no obligation to pander to any particular person's personal needs, and insisting that your personal dissatisfaction implies that the event is ill-conceived altogether is quite frankly comical and more than just a little infantile.

Wishing bad fortune upon the initiative of another when unwilling to engage in that same initiative oneself is cowardly and shameful.

That's lame. My necromancer can pull, twitch, dot and heal! I'm like a Bard in a dress. Isn't Detoxx always posting in recruitment about come "play and spend your DKPs how you want? Class and level be damned." This event seems to be quite the opposite of that. I'm sure quite a few people are put off by this development.

I hope all your drops are leather gloves and helms!

I agree to maybe have a necromancer instead of a cleric but meh, it's his rodeo. One necromancer makes it so there is absolutely no wasted time inbetween mobs pretty much. I suppose 4 clerics could rotate well enough though to not lose any noticeable amount of mana, especially if its a good tank.

Only takes 2 clerics to heal HoT. With 4, you’re just sitting around for free pixels

Why get 4 rogues? Hatchlings near Eashen quad when given weapons and put out about 150+ DPS. Can be snared, stunned, mezzed with dazzle, charmed with allure and VP staff... very easy to handle.

Should recruit more Enchanters.

Well said, I would add that the exclusiveness is actually a positive, not a negative, for those who will sign up.

Eabon is right. I'm calling on those who were going to participate to boycott this event until it is an open and fair event for all!!

Why don’t you lead your own HoT group then? It’s his raid and he can do whatever he wants. You sound quite shrill and immature, even if he did need your class he’s probably exclude you based on personality.

I've been to a lot of open raids and lead a few as well. The most successful ones (Eabon's) are those where the raid leader ensures that there are a sufficient number experienced/geared players in the key roles. The less successful ones have inexperienced pullers, 1 cleric, undergeared tanks, and so on. Naethyn is taking this philosophy to an extreme, but that's his choice because he is doing the organizational grunt work.

Stop whining.

I was a participant in Eabon's open Sky raids ca. early 2013 and those were the best raids I've been apart of on p99. Such efficient clears. Much loot obtained by all (sadly never got my FD ring tho!). I remember we eventually had to stop publicly posting the raid info because there was too much interest and so we had to trim the participants down to only needed classes. It's just necessary for challenging content. For Kael arena? That's easy. You can do an open raid with 60 people there and zerg Vindi no problem. If you get a bunch of low 50's in HoT with no resist gear they will be more harm than good and literally just leeching drops from more deserving participants.

If someone is going out of their way to host their own event they can set whatever parameters they want. The goal here isn't altruistic, so it's the the best interests of participants to bring both the minimum necessary and ideal composition.

I see no problems with this but necro is a class worth having one of if only to spot heal, twitch and provide additional dps.

Update #2
We've reached 22 interested players, and all roles have been filled. If you are still interested but haven't contacted me, you still can. We will likely try to find a time between raid windows, and not everyone will make it. Discord links have been sent via forum PM. If you didn't get a link let me know. Future updates will likely happen in Discord.

Necromancers!
We've decided to allow one necromancer, but you must prove yourself by flopping to HoT exit before the raid. Contact me ahead of time and let me know that you are doing this and you will be invited to come. In the event that one of our players with a CoTH mage is unable to play, you will be expected to rez a dragged cleric. Good Luck!
