Hello! My husband set up my account while I was gone, which is why I have such a stupid username. I would be less upset if he had given himself an equally ridiculous username, but of course he didn't. So, please don't judge me. Instead, judge him (smuzilla). Thanks, & have a wonderful day!

I don't think you have to worry about being judged here. That's what RNF is for. Welcome to P99!

JFC...and here I was reading it as St. Eph's Account, as in Saint Ephrem the Syrian and his account of the Last Judgment that would later inspire Dante. There is no /judge emote in game but I'll spam /cringe at Smuzilla if I see him in game.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was hoping would happen. I only posted my mini rant to tease him, and I had hoped it would encourage others to do the same! :D He's a good sport & chuckled when he saw what I had posted, so he'll happily accept any trolling that comes as a result of the post.

ROTFL... we at least he (probably?) didn't make your EQ toon with the same name..hehe.. (lol, run around with THAT license plate on your head in-game for years to come!)

HAHA! He named my first character, but I forget what it is since I don't play with it--definitely more creative than my username for sure. He was impatient to get the IP exemption process started so we could play together & couldn't wait the 3hrs till I got home. Turns out those few hours wouldn't have made much of a difference since the request process can take several weeks/months anyway. If I knew more about computers & the gaming world, I'd volunteer to help get through the project's request queue, but my skills pretty much end at the intermediate Excel level, so I'd probably end up making more problems than I'd solve.

lol No, he used more creativity in creating my first character. He was just too eager to get the IP exemption process started & couldn't wait the 3hrs till I got home. Turns out it didn't really matter since apparently it can take several weeks or months for the project coordinators to get through the revolving queue of requests. If I knew more about computers or the game, I'd be happy to volunteer some time to the cause, but my skills are limited to intermediate Excel usage, solitaire, and wasting time surfing the internet. Seeing as EQ is my first foray into the world of MMOs (minus a 2hr time suck session on WoW circa 2009), I would probably cause more problems than I'd solve.

He didn’t do anything special except ask if I’d like to play with him. His excitement over the game and desire to spend time with me are what won me over. I’d imagine that most wives would be happy to playwith their husbands if they were as patient in teaching the game as smuzilla. The fact that we don’t have kids at the moment is another plus in favor of both of us being able to play at the same time.

They’re mostly harmless. I just through some cheese & crackers in the general vicinity of smuzilla & he’s willing to do my bidding. :D

Can't make sense of it either, other than he's implying that we're all bad at interactions with members of the opposite sex. Thanks Sorn.

I've tried several times since yesterday to respond to some of the new comments, so here's hoping the third time really is a charm!

Kadaru2, no, hubby was quite imaginative in naming my first character, but I've taken over since then. He was just a little overexcited to start playing together & couldn't wait the 3hrs till I got home to get the IP exemption process started. Turns out the effort was moot since it can take a few weeks or months till our request gets to the top of the request queue...

Raski, DH's success in getting me to play EQ lies mainly in his desire to include me in as many of his hobbies as possible and my love for spending time with him. We are also childless, which allows both of us to fully engage in the game & not worry about or get distracted by the needs of others. Those of you who wish to get your significant others to play with them should start out by letting them know how much you'd love to share a hobby with them.

Scorn, I'm not really sure what you're cringing at. They (including smuzilla) have been nothing but supportive. Is it their surprise in seeing a woman participating in the game? If so, I'm equally guilty where it pertains to discovering men partaking in my predominantly female centered hobbies.

You're welcome :D

Also now this thread's getting too deep into elfpals territory so I'm just gonna leave.

Stop RNF'n in the wrong forums. If you want to RNF and troll each other by all means go ahead. Here is the link

I've tried commenting 3 times to this thread with no luck. Not sure if it was something I wrote or did, but I'll try again.

DH was much more creative in naming my first character. However, I've since taken over creating and naming my own characters, so all is well in my EQ world for the time being. We're just waiting for our IP exemption to come through so we can play together.

If you want to get your female counterparts to play with you, just try asking them. DH tries to get me involved in pretty much every one of is hobbies. Some appeal to me & others don't. For example, I'll play a game of Blood Bowl or 40K at home, but I have no interest in creating my own team or army & joining his player's league. He got me into playing D&D, and now we have a weekly game as well as a semi-monthly newb game where we're teaching 4 other friends how to play. The next challenge will be for me to get him to try cross stitching. :-D

New accounts usually have their first few posts go through moderation, so that's why there's been some delay in your responses showing up, Steph. I see all of them now.

It IS their surprise as well as certain individuals congratulating someone who hasn't even posted in the thread.

There are quite a few women who play on p99, by the way. :D

Yeah, I feel bad about this. We were trying to play that evening, and I was trying to get everything setup and I was making accounts and she was out. Oh well. No points for originality.
