I'm over 190 now as well. I've had quite a lot of beer and gin in recent weeks though so even though I've kept up the gym routine and have been progressing, I'm not certain it's pure GaInZ and not just gUt

i put on an old white undershirt this morning and was suprrised by how tight it's gotten. My arms are stretching out the sleeves. it feels like a girl's shirt (not that i am a cross-dresser, but who hasn't put on the shirt or sweater of a girl they just fucked to make her laugh a little)
getting big, boys. the gains are real.
Today is a rest day and I'm putting in some hours of work as this launch reaches its last week.
Ate 3 eggs, 6 pieces of bacon, 2 flour tortillas, 2 cups of coffee with half and half for breakfast.

No; the pain is on my abdomen underneath scar from a surgery I had last year. I had it before wokring out. not muscular soreness. have you used foam roller on scar tissue to success?

yester eve was good gains. i did legs and biceps, switching to lower reps heavier weight
then i ate a hamburger and half a dish of mac n cheese, 2 whiskey sodas at a party, came home and ate ice cream and chocolate

Humans are natural persistance predators and runners. Competative eaters are known to have leg days before a competition as it is the best way to build a calorific deficit. A lot of ladies are waking up to the fact that strength training their lower half is the best way to convert their fat arse into a phat ass!

my ankle continues to improve. i can do stairs now on it with just a little bit of boo to the other foot as I descend and it don't swell as much neither. im getting around with no wrapping of it at all.
this weekend I started a new round of bodyweight exercises: glut e planks, side planks, planks, squats (not perfect range of motion yet on ankle :c), superman and potato pickers. felt pretty good and was able to loosen up. found everything in my left leg was pretty tight from being off it.

Past few days I haven't been GAINING hard i've actually let a little bit of belly fat drop off. I've been skinny my whole life so even a slight layer of belly fat is strange to me.
Today I am going to perform yoga with my sister at a feminist libtard yoga shop here in portland. no gains will be made except for flexibility and peace of mind, which are pretty good GAINS

Either way we lose muscle.
I literally maintain my weight at 1400 calories.
Though I've managed to slowly build muscle under that and replace fat with some core.

I went from 0 pushups at the begining of feburary to a set of 7 just now.
Took a lot of wall and knee pushups.
Don't know if ya'll fatties like running, but I just downloaded an app on my phone called Sweatcoin. It claims to "pay" you for the steps you take, but I haven't tried redeeming the currency for anything. If it's on the level, could be pretty cool, if you get a lot of steps under you.
Can redeem their currency for some decent shit. Giftcards, Fitbits, etc.
If anyone else been using it longer and can confirm it's not just a big fat lie, that'd be swell. So far, it at least forces me to get off my ass more.

I'm actually pretty excited for cutting. I too will be doing IF. I love fasting and eating less because my brain kicks into a higher gear. Eating a lot puts so much energy into digestion and shitting.
You can continue making STRENGTH gains while cutting. Obviously your mass will go down. However if done long enough, your muscles will be puffier and look bigger even if you don't weigh more.

There's definitely risk and wear and tear involved. For those of us without ready access to safe water, biking is the next best thing.
But it's OK to run some I think to.
We evolved/designed to run. We killed our prey in our aboriginal roots by walking it to death and migrating on our legs.
Just because were efficient at it doesn't mean it's good to take it to an extreme. It just means that it's a useful part of what we are as a species. We are pretty good walkers/runners. Squatters, standers.
Were not so good at sitting. All the time. Which is equally bad or worse than running or walking some.
Queue the lower back pain I've experienced because of EQ and an office job. It's better now that I do proper stretches, yoga, run, walk.
Being obese also wreaks havoc with our knees and joints. A lot of inflammation problems the heavier we get too.
Life is about enduring the suffering of our bodies. It basically can't be avoided. We can only chose how to endure it and find ways to enjoy that journey. Simple straight forward pain avoidance doesn't work.

Yeah you can cut and still gain muscle. It's way harder
My main issue is when I lift in the morning. It's so much worse than after work. Doing chest this morning really succ'ed ass. I was dragging all day. Maybe it's because my lunch was a single can of tuna with 20g of protein but only like 130 calories

it took me about an hour and a half and then i spun my dick like a helicopter blade and levitated out of the gym

I felt like delaying this response for all the itrolleduso's I'd get if I just left it.
But I want to clarify I'm not injured. I'm just worried about the muscle healing itself back to peak performance rapidly.. or at all within a 24 hr windows. Want to make GAINS. In endurance and speed.
I'm actually super careful about stopping before the fatigue reaches painful injury prone levels.

it has application for anyone who sits in a chair for long periods of time...spinal curvatures are very subtle and lead to damage later in life. hips n lumbar also
its necessary to decompress the spine. obviously if u already have back problems, its not a good idea. foam rolling is preventative

Running a calorie deficit of 400 and doing strength training and running is hard. I've been working down to grossing 1100 calories / day. But if I take into account steps, I'm more like 900 net calories / day.
I'm not happy anymore if I don't see that weight is down Monday.
Going to train a little less and keep calories low. But holy hell I was terrible running today. Ran one mile then I broke down and just did flat out sprints 1 mile and walked doing butt kicks, high knees, lunges and squats the last mile.
Still feel ok, no pain. Normally I can at least maintain a decent slow pace and heart rate.

Running a calorie deficit of 400 and doing strength training and running is hard. I've been working down to grossing 1100 calories / day. But if I take into account steps, I'm more like 900 net calories / day.
I'm not happy anymore if I don't see that weight is down Monday.
Going to train a little less and keep calories low. But holy hell I was terrible running today. Ran one mile then I broke down and just did flat out sprints 1 mile and walked doing butt kicks, high knees, lunges and squats the last mile.
Still feel ok, no pain. Normally I can at least maintain a decent slow pace and heart rate.

Just do full body but keep it under an hour so its not detrimental. More intensity and more efficient since you can go again after 2 day rest rather than waiting 3 or more with a split.

I have stalled out at 195. I really want to get back to pure lean and highly visible abs so I haven't been able to push up to 200 this bulk season.
But the gains are still alive. I took it easy yesterday and today because I'm going Rock CLimbing this evening with an attractive female scientist and I want to bang her, so I kept my muscles fresh and strong.
Will make sick forearm gains this evening. Tomorrow i'll probably have to do multiple upper body groups because on Thursday I have another date.
Socialzing with women really cutting into my gains routine
side note: i've had to slow down leg days because my legs and ass are so strong that it's hard to find good dress pants that fit my slim waist and don't tear at the seams thanks to the leg muscles

broke more shit than surgeon originally knew about until he opened me up
3 hour surgery
1. tibial type 2, hairline, and compression fractures (bone graft + hardware)
2. torn meniscus
3. completely ruptured MCL (replaced with an achilles tendon)
4. torn quad
did it big and got some badass scars. hopefully tomorrow I get the green light to start PT. been doing hundreds of leg lifts and resistance band calf exercises to help when it's time for weight bearing

Was 6'1 250 and only doing like 120 squat, 110 bench, proportional with other lifts (10-rep numbers), but I've dropped to 237ish in the 7 weeks I've been doing this beginner, full-body program I'm doing while adding (or not dropping, at least) weight on any of my lifts. Finally started strength training recently after realizing that I'd been wasting me time trying to get back in shape doing cardio here or there over the last several years; I get too fucking bored doing any cardio except running to stick with it, and running kills my knees (iliotibial band syndrome, I think?) and I never figured out stretches/exercises/shoes/whatever to calm that shit down so I could walk for the week following a few days of 5k jogs.
Kinda fun watching macros and calories with some specific purpose other than "I'm fat and should not be this fat any more." Keeps me entertained. Bought a power cage and using some ancient standard weights I found in my Dad's garage. Look forward to every Monday. Heavy day best day.

I do pull-ups on my arms day. I do a triceps-biceps-forearm day that includes 5 sets of pull-ups. I'm not doing deadlifts until I get a trainer and that hasn't been a priority with 4 grandkids around and a 5th on the way (and a 30 y/o son being a bitch currently). I'll get there.
Can you explain the advantage of deadlifts? I really don't get it as far as a BACK exercise. Definitely hits a lot of muscles though

The only rec I can give u is to change your reps to higher or lower, inverse of what you've been doing. Also, find different back exercises if you can. Not sure about your tightness although I do recommend yoga and swimming as a solution for any tight muscles. Get a massage

always struggled to keep weight on. i do body weight work outs and run, thanks army, a lot but ive never been big. i was 120 when i was 18 and went to boot camp, and was one of the only people to put on weight by the end of the three months: weighed 140 (i inhaled the nuts and cheese at the salad bar because i swear to RZ I was never not hungry those three months). when i came back home after active and went in reserves i lost all the weigh i'd gained. became a CO like three years ago, for over a year, and hit the lifting every day and got up to 175. thicc af. but after going to school and working a desk job for a long time i'm back to 140-145.
anyways no one cares. point is, im going to leave this cubicle job and i told my wife i was going to hit the lifting hard again instead of just cardio and body weight when im back in school. its a long story but im living next to my university for the first time after attending there for 3 years. so going to use their sick ass gym on the reg.
I wanted to document it here because Im not prideful enough to put it somewhere on its own, and really itll just get buried here but maybe some outside motivation and a community within a community im already in on the way will keep me going strong

Swimming report: now that i can easily swim a mile freestyle nonstop i've made some big shoulder strength gains. Without lifting a weight i increased my deltoid raises from 10s to easy 15 lbs with high rep. I'm not really sore in my shoulders today, so it tells me i actually need to go higher.

I do 20s on those raises. Do you military press as well? I'm over 135 in that department (as in what I rep). I'm soon to military press more than I incline. Pisses me off

Thanks guys. I had some really heavy family/wife relationship stuff that was weighing me down that kind of got settled this weekend and I feel like I have the energy finally to really get this ball rolling. Luckily I eat good, so now I need to get into eating more and killing it. Will post a first picture after today's workout to begin progress reporting.

Really felt the barbell rows today (in a good way). Also trying to massively cut calories. The goal is 180 lbs and 12% body fat. I'm at 193 lbs currently and probably 18% body fat. Oh yeah, my math may be wrong

Oh man I made a post the other day to bump but it was on mobile and I guess it glitched out and never submitted.
Just got readmitted to my school after taking a semester off, so now I can use their awesome gym again and start to actually do the lifting. Until then I've been doing HIIT training hitting the reflex bag, doing core, and doing push ups. Been intermittent fasting for a few years now, with cheat days every once in awhile. But when I start lifting, just because I'm so lean, I might dump that for awhile.
Did 30/60 hill sprints yesterday and my shoulders are sore for some reason. Did a two mile run as fast as I could 3 weeks ago and did it in 14:35 so I'm hoping to get that down while still putting on mass.

Honestly, when I go to a different gym I'm usually not able to dumbbell press as much so who knows. Maybe it's psychological. There's no way in hell altitude of 2-3 floors affects push-ups unless you're in Denver or something and normally live at sea level

After a couple months of sitting around and feeling sorry for myself, I've decided my mourning period is over. Spent a week in Albuquerque this month and did some biking (which is huge out there) on mountain trails. The altitude murdered my ass but it was actually really good because it made me realize how out of shape I am.
Now I'm back in KC, renewed my gym membership, 'bout to get jacked, yo.
Trying to reconnect with old good habits I used to have: Immediately working out after getting home from work instead of sitting down, eating healthier, completely cutting out sweets, and saying goodbye to Jack and Coke (the Coke part, I'll still chug some Jack).
These aren't necessarily "gains" as far as packing muscle, but I'm 5'11" 190 LBS, I don't really need any muscle, just some tone. It really can't be said enough how much better I've felt in the last couple weeks by being more physically active. I'd urge anyone on the fence to just go out and do it, whatever "it" is.

What's your swim workout? I swam competitively for many years and was doing 3x a day swims in my prime, sometimes doing 3,000+ meters a day. That shit would murder me now. I haven't used the gym pool since I renewed my crap, mostly because I'm scared of how much I'm going to suck after being out of it for months.
Yoga definitely seems like a good way to meet women. I can't imagine there are a ton of dudes in those classes.

TLDR - unable to run because of high BMI and weak knees, takes to the water like a whale.
Damn this hit a little close to home. I do feel like I'm a little heavy for running and my knees are definitely not what they used to be.
Swimming really is the best cardio -- No joint stress (minus shoulders with some strokes), forces you to breathe correctly if you have the proper form, you won't overheat if you're in a maintained pool like you would if you were running.
The only con I can think of is if you really get to putting in a lot of laps you're going to consume all of that $300 you spent at Whole Foods in one sitting.

I shop at whole foods, trader joes, and occasionally target. I don't buy shit food and my keto diet doesn't consist of pork rinds 3 meals a day. Lots of greens, especially above ground grown veggies, avocado, eggs, lower carb nuts such as macadamia, fish, steak, chicken, cheese, plain yogurt, etc.. There are plenty of healthy keto guides out there. If you think eating pork rinds and bacon 3 meals a day is a great keto diet then you probably deserve what's coming to you anyways.

I wouldn't strictly say that's a keto diet. I eat a ton of veggies and some fatty fruits like cados and olives. But I feel u 100%

Whether it's a sustainable long term lifestyle in America IDK? I don't think it's something the average plebian American who's co-dependent on Taco Bell (see demolition man) can afford to properly do long term unless they overthrow their government of walmarts and supplement with rat and bug protiens.
I had avocado toast (340) and two 100 calorie cups of coffee for breakfast this morning and I've lost ~46 lb and it's going down still at 1.1 lb per week. And all I'm doing is restricting calories and eating healthy food with the occasional crazy Chinese food binge. But, even then it's healthier things on the menu like Moo Shu which comes in a vegetable variety and has a sorghum or rice based wrap. I feel like no matter what I wind up eating, even if it's out of dumpsters, I can maintain this.
I've hit a weight too now that I'm not constantly depressed and craving food and feeling malnurished as well. I could also easily go several days without eating without having a major metabolic emergency, because my liver is happy to kick in and do what it was evolved to do.
Tonight is sauerkraut and potatoes and leftover kielbasa from the deli. Saturday is delicious home made and gardened colcannon and corned beef. And when I wake up Monday I expect to see yet another lb gone.
Food Freedom is fucking good, and delicious.
Previously I've done 3 keto diets in my life, and attempted to do it while in the military. I failed and only managed to lose 15-25lb each time and became incredibly sick at high activity levels, causing me to quit. So I'm prejudiced ya. I prefer to feel good, AND lose weight.

That probably scares the fuck out of you, it's 4-5x the daily recommended UL of keto. And I'm still losing weight n being healthy. So... it's not the only way.
I agree people are excessively scared of fat and salt. Though we do consume too much salt(s) and in the incorrect ratios. Though if we cut salt out of our diet and continue to eat shitty we feel sick. We eat a lot of salt to make up for not eating right and to feel good because we are vitamin and mineral deficient, and the salt just exacerbates that over time.
Also, whats up with all the weird ass chemicals in everything that comes out of plastic bags and bottles?
Why can't I just bring a leaded glass or ceramic cup or flaggon (partial /s) to the water fountain? Why aren't my meats just wrapped up in the animals skins and connective tissues or paper that can be composted? I blame plastic for fucking our water-cycle-tables way more than E and ED drugs.

An apple or two isn’t going to make a difference as far as overall health. It’s probably mostly benefitting you. You’ll burn those carbs up quick working out. The key to this is really finding what works for you and what you’re going to stick with long term. It’s better to sustain a good balance rather than go hard on some crazy nonsustainable diet.

The problem is people get wind that too much of something (salt, fat, more recently fruit) is bad for you and totally cut it. Instead of trying to find a healthy modulation the pendulum swings too far and they lose the benefit of that nutrition.
I'll have a banana every day and a pear most days and don't sweat it.
I'll often have the pear sliced with yogurt as I reckon that fruits acid might be a bit too rad for my teeth.

First time doing a back workout in 4 months. Felt really good. Put in another good session. Knee is being extra sensitive today, but I went really hard with legs yesterday. Stopped and got some good stuff for the weekend.

Been really shitty this week, I got all motivated while I was on my business trip and came back to my actual job and commute and just hate life when I get home and go straight to the beer.
Still hitting the bag and eating really good though, despite the beer. Have some Army stuff this weekend and will try to get in it again this next week. Definitely wish I had a partner to gym up with. I hate to admit I'm the guy that has to get pushed sometimes
