If your cerebrovascular accident ("stroke" might be easier to say) only prevents you from speaking well I don't think it will be a problem. While most guilds use Discord or another form of teamspeak, normally it's ok to just listen and never speak. You still need to be able to type in /guild of course, but if you can't type you probably wouldn't play EverQuest :)

Some guilds do not even require that you join voice chat. Voice chat always took something away from the fantasy nature of the game to me and I preferred not to use it and I was able to do that within p99. Granted raiding gets harder this way.

Otherwise I doubt any guild would require that you be able to speak in voice chat. Listening to instructions and using guild chat should be sufficient.

If you're looking for a good guild to join and level up into the raid scene <black hearts> is a good bet and fun people.
