I am currently researching the faction change based on Amulet of Necropotence usage on different race / class / deity combos from max KOS (preferably) and other faction levels. As we don't ready access to puppet strings in <Auld Lang Syne> this has become fairly important for us. I figured I'd post what I know here so far (this is the beginning of these tests) and see if any of you have any other experiences with faction changes with AoN and the outpost.
In addition to AoN I'll be testing the gains from https://wiki.project1999.com/Ornate_Velium_Pendant as I plan to get two and test this faction as well (will hopefully narrow down some effects)
I'll update this thread as I get new info, anything you have will help :D
This document to be updated as I gain more information - Tywyll 3/3/2018

Amulet of Necropotence and Hammer Faction
Max KOS
Wood Elf Tunare Ranger: Scowl -> Threating, 951 - 1251 faction boost
Iksar Cazuc Thule Shadowknight: Scowl -> Apprehensive, 1551 - 1950 faction boost
Human Rallos Zek Warrior: Scowl -> Scowl - Human may be netural and have no change to faction. Further testing with evil human deity is necessary. Preferably Cazic Thule
Scowling non max KOS
Iksar Cazic Thule Shaman: Scowl -> Apprehensive, 1551 - 1950 faction boost
Dubious (exact turn in over Dubious unknown)
Iksar Cazic Thule Monk: Dubious -> Amiable, 551 - 1049 faction change. Hammer Acquired
Amiable
Ogre (Rallos or Cazic Thule) Shaman: No change. Ogre possibly gets no change. There is no reduction (subject was only one turn in over Amiable, Ogre seems to equal Skeleton form)

Oops - Realized I had a few math mistakes up there on that last one - here is a correct version (sorry) with a few new updates.
Amulet of Necropotence and Hammer Faction
Max KOS
Wood Elf Tunare Ranger: Scowl -> Threating, 951 - 1300 faction boost
Iksar Cazuc Thule Shadowknight: Scowl -> Apprehensive, 1551 - 1950 faction boost
Human Rallos Zek Warrior: Scowl -> Scowl - Human may be netural and have no change to faction.
Further testing with evil human deity is necessary. Preferably Cazic Thule
Scowling non max KOS
Iksar Cazic Thule Shaman: Scowl -> Apprehensive, 1551 - 1950 faction boost
Scowling non max KOS (20 turn ins?)
Halfing Karana Druid: Scowl -> Threatening, 951 - 1300 faction boost
Dubious (exact turn in over Dubious unknown)
Iksar Cazic Thule Monk: Dubious -> Amiable, 101 - 899 faction change. Hammer Acquired
Amiable
Ogre (Rallos or Cazic Thule) Shaman: No change. Ogre possibly gets no change. There is no reduction (subject was only one turn in over Amiable,
Ogre seems to equal Skeleton form which suggests that ogre, like skeleton form, is netural.)

It's important to realize that illusions do not actually give you any sort of faction boost. They simply change your racial modifier and the bigger the negative modifier a race has to Venril Sathir the larger the effect will be.
Right now, the lower your starting modifiers place you on the scale the less points it takes you to reach 'max scowls'.
The short of this is that if you're any of the races that START non-KOS to Outpost then you will not benefit from any illusion the way someone who START KOS.

What Aalderon said is true. OP's statement of 'faction boosting' isn't exactly accurate for the reasons Aalderon listed.

Sorry, yeah, thanks for the update! I do realize that it is not a "faction boost" but it is a change of the racial faction. In the "boosting" that I wrote, I guess I am erroneously referring to it that way because when doing the math on where the illusion puts you it is easier to think of it as a boost instead of change, as we are trying to "climb" the faction scale upward.
Easier for the math I think but doesn't really work out in the wordplay.
I will take a look at the links you've provided as well.
I've determined, at least for my case (wood elf ranger tunare) that AoN has removed over HALF of the factioning required for a hammer. A life saver when puppet strings are a no go unless we farm them - we got lucky on the AoN haha, I don't know that we will have the same luck twice.

Perhaps Aalderon can speak to this, but I believe the Golem Clay from Cazic-Thule (the zone, not the god) that turns you into an earth elemental has the safe effect in OT as the AoN.
Its a 1-shot consumable, but if you faction test where you need to be with the Amulet, you can do the rest with the ball of clay which you can easily camp.
At least that is what I had read in some bug forums / old links there.

tread lightly, rygar likes to report bugs. he'd pull the carpet out from under our feet to fix something.
This could be tested with enchanter's Illusion: Earth Elemental (http://wiki.project1999.com/Illusion:_Earth_Elemental) btw, same effect.

I saw his contributions towards getting scalps/ears fixed - two thumbs up.
Rygar's faction standing with AalderonCrystafire got better.
As far as earth elemental goes... I can't comment. When it comes to monster illusion mods we're rocking off of what we were able to gather from EQMac before it closed. In 2003 these illusions had their mods removed so that data is lost to us based on live.
