Is it really classic that we aren't allowing casters to bind themselves inside the *city* in Crystal Caverns? I do not remember this restriction at all. I know it is because of the inability for us to bind in any Velious dungeon, but is this intentional? It seems totally over the top. It has vendors and a bank but I cant bind myself there? Lol?

This might answer some questions:

Thanks was not aware of that. Unfortunate that CC was collateral damage of high level dungeon balance.

Unfortunate that CC was collateral damage of high level dungeon balance.

Not really: Project 1999 is about re-creating the classic era, and both CC and higher level dungeons weren't bindable on live during the classic era, therefore they're all not bindable here. It's not like the decision on one dungeon impacted the decision on the others.

In fact if you read the linked thread CC was actually non-bindable before the others (thanks to Ele), so if anything it the other dungeons are the "collateral damage."

I never said the collateral damage was from P99 and not live. Please quote me where I said that.

Ummm ... I wasn't aware we were having a debate? Your post came immediately after a link to a whole discussion of how the zones became non-bindable on P99, so it was perfectly logical to assume that's what you were referring to.

If that was a misunderstanding all you had to do to correct it was write something like:
I actually meant that it's unfortunate the original EQ developers decided to make all dungeons un-bindable as 'collateral damage' of making the high level ones unbindable.

instead of asking me quote you... but /shrug whatever works.

P.S. Even my revised quote still doesn't make a ton of sense. Not being able to bind in dungeons is just as relevant to low-level characters as high-level ones, and I've seen no evidence anywhere that the original EQ devs thought "well we're making these high-level dungeons unbindable for high level reasons, so we better nerf the low level ones too as collateral damage."

From linked article, "For the lower level zones this doesn't present too much of a balance concern. However in Velks, DN, ToV and ST you are able to do some ridiculous trains and pulls that weren't remotely possible in classic via using monks binding with lockets, Necros FDed with non-aggroed pets, instant gate potions and TL boxes. You can bind mages in safe spots in ToV or Velks or DN and gate to instantly set up CotH chains as well."

Yeah I see your point.
