So I have been pondering. What is the best, or most interesting duo that you can from from start to finish. I mean as in no twinking, self made from 1-60.

First that comes to mind is obviously monk / shaman.

However I am wondering in a world starting from scratch would a duo like necro / wiz be bad to the A.

Curious of everyone's thoughts

This^

1st Ench+Cleric is the best duo in velious, period.
2nd is ench+shm
3rd is shm+monk

It's been talked about a lot of these forums,. people can argue but this is the exact best duo lineup.
And of course indivual's skill comes into play. But this top 3 best duo list is based around both people being at the top of their game with bis.

@OP best non twink duo is mage + mage.

Once cleric gets complete heal the ench cleric duo becomes very OP. NPC mobs have so much HP that you get a crazy strong pet who can't die. Not to mention the safety it can afford an enchanter who deals with dying from broken charms.

1) enc + cleric

Takes very little gear (cha gear for enc) and just basic spells. Highly dependant on enchanter skill level and willingness to do 95% of the work

2) enc + shm

Works similar to enc and cleric except replace complete healing with torpor which is way way way more expensive than every single spell a cleric has + decent gear on their back combined. Benefit is shaman is nigh infinite mana an extra pet to eat some hits from summoning mobs on charm break, better slow and more debuffs. As stated downside is the shaman part is very expensive

I understand the sentiment of 60 functionality. I more interested in the path to 60.

more like duos that have interesting mechanics or surprise duoing utility.

cleric / chanter is a super strong duo. But are they the barney bad ass at level 30?

How about say a necro / ,age duo. fear kite with nukes and extra mage dps.

if min / max is cleric / chanter at end game, what is the min / max at low and mid game?

Enchanter gets its first Charm at 12, Breeze at 16, and Clarity at 29.

Enchanter/cleric is just awesome all the way though.

The cleric doesn't get Complete Heal until 39, but it can heal the pet from the getgo, as well as help out with stuns due to pet break. I really wouldn't be too concerned with low level leveling, as that duo will plow though content, as well as farm whatever gear you want for both characters.

If you really prefer other classes, use the C/C combo to farm for your alts.

Enchanter has the smoothest path to 60, enc cleric duo even more so

paladin shadowknight, it would be like one of those wonky sitcoms where two completely opposite cops get paired with each other, except in this case they would both be inept

1-50 I'd put dual mage ahead of ench+cleric
50-60 untwinked ench+cleric is probably the best
if you get epic then I'd think that any 2 out of druid, sham, necro would outpace ench+cleric with mass root rot
bard+wiz also could level pretty fast I'd think all throughout

bard wiz would def level fast but aside from that the cler/chanter is clearly the best, at all levels. a necro/sham would level well together but its not gonna touch the efficiency of a chanter/cleric

I'd bet that bard/wiz would get 60 faster than cleric/ench. Probably half the time

Mage necro for easy mode

Troll sham / troll sk for fun and roleplay

Enc / clr obvious min/max but there are many of these at higher levels

necro / necro lots of potential and power

mage / mage if you're new-ish to the game and don't mind sticking to easier spots

shaman and monk aren't as OP as a cleric/chanter, but shaman/monk is stupid easy.

Chanter and cleric requires some actual paying attention and reaction time...shaman and monk is basically single pull, slow, auto-attack...afk.

Depends on your play style.

There is no golden answer. 1-50 its hard to beat Healer + Melee of basically any combination since Root sucks before Paralyzing Earth. There are lots of unconventional duos and trios that are super fun. I have been playing a lot of necromancer lately and one of my favorite partners is a Monk (shocking I know).

1-50 you can do whatever, hell I bet wiz/wiz wouldn't be as terrible as it sounds. 50-60 is where the meat hits the grinder. There are a lot of ways to get to 60, but the most common path is through Sebelis and Howling Stones. Both zones favor enchanters/clerics/shamans/monks/necromancers so these classes have an easier time hitting 60 than others.

One of the best groups I have been in was the other day we trio'd as Necro/Druid/Bard. Very unconventional group but it worked steller. Granted I am a superstar Necromancer so every group I am in is awesome

I really like the idea of doing rogue/Necro few kiting.
Or maybe Shaman/SK

Necro/Mage requires no gear. Farm bone chips for necro and sell trash to buy malachite for mage and fear/kite & pet tank to 60. Imo it'd be the easiest pure XP duo that requires literally 0 gear.

I just want to point out that a major drawback of having an enchanter as part of the duo is that the enchanter needs to be paying attention 24/7. For some people that's not an issue but if you have a kid and need random 5 minute breaks, or even have a small bladder, it creates a much larger annoyance compared to a non-charming class.

figure out how you want to play --- solo, duo, in group play and raiding.

I know people who only have 1 Druid and they play the shit out of them for solo, raid, group, everything and they do amazing stuff. I have a druid that I started with but really only play him for certain specific instances -- helping out buddies, buffing, some fun solo stuff, porting people, helping out with quests, etc. On the other hand I love my rogue but mostly only play him for raiding and helping out my guild b/c he's a DPS machine.

The classes are super unbalanced so figure out what you want to do, narrow your choices down to a few classes that you may like, then choose two that compliment each other.

Cleric can stun/soothe/mem blur pet if enc Afk. The op did say interesting, not self playing / disengaged.

enchanter + necro is also good, especially if the target has tons of hp (necro can use pet, and only charm if the camp is easy to handle)

SK / Rogue can be fun if you stick to fear kiting
