Max KOS to Ally with Skyshrine? I have done this more times than I care to acknowledge but I haven't done it since the faction changes on the mobs outside of Kael and back then it was usually a few hours over a day or two to get to Ally.

What type of time commitment is it these days using some of the traditional methods? Plate house, Arena, WL Pick Up Faction Groups, and of course tagging raid mobs.

Anyone done it recently!?!?!?

WL got nerfed, it now feels like 1 faction per kill there.
Kael is the go to, find an arena group going.

faction is normally (max kos)-2000 to 2000(max ally)

so what took a few hours in a day now takes a couple to a few days. Unless you're in a group really slamming through mobs in kael.
I suppose platehouse is another place as you mentioned.

Do different factions have different ranges?

I don't think so but certain race/class/deity combinations do have a limit they can achieve on either end of that spectrum for specific factions/npcs.

I've heard people make claims that some factions aren't -2k to 2k but idk if that's true. And I cant name any specifics.

Statue and AoW are still the go to. I took my necro from (not max) KoS to warmly with two statue hits and an AoW. Grinded warmly to ally in WL which was slow and terrible.

If you can get in on a fraction group pulling quest mobs in kael, you'll get it done pretty fast.

Did this recently, if you can get tags on tormax, AoW, and statue it goes pretty quick. I personally didn't even bother with WL bs. If you really want to do it quicker follow/get an arena group.

Kill the three ogres in EW and bank the quest items, then turn in to the sentry in front of Skyshrine for +8 CoV each.

They are a total pushover and repop in 5 minutes.

I think he probably was just pointing out that Max KOS to Max Ally is 4,000 faction, A lot of class/race combos start a lot higher than Max KOS. That coupled with only needing Ally for SS Armor Quest Turn Ins means it's not that terrible of a grind. Apprehensive to ally is a max of 1500 faction, max KOS to Minimum Ally is 3051 faction.

Since I'm currently suspended from raiding, I can't take faction hits on raid mobs. I will probably just try WL to get my war alt from apprehensive in Thurg to Kindly and from KOS in SS to amiable.

My rogue on the other hand who I never wanted to get ally b/c he only had SS boots, I might work on if I can get some arena groups together.

Thanks everyone!

Everyone gave you good info so far, but to just clarify a few things:

Since you asked about CoV faction, don't go to Platehouse. That's for Coldain faction. For CoV you want 4way or Arena.

Also, tagging Arena bosses (AoW, Statue, or Vindi) will give big hits to CoV, but Tomax only gives hits to the city bosses (Dain and Yelinak), so he isn't really worth the effort.

You can also turn in Storm Giant toes to Sentry Kcor, but it feels like a pretty awful faction hit for how rarely they drop. I turned in 30+ on my amiable rogue and was still amiable after. But I might have been barely amiable? Who knows.

Kael arena >>>>> all.

It works best if you tag along with a gigantic open raid pulling literally the entire zone and is useless if you just try to 1 group it

Will need to look into that respawn and drop rate. 5 mins sounds off, but maybe as intended.

Don't do plate house for CoV faction. Those Giants are the frost ones so they only give 1 CoV hit and 5 coldain. You want to focus on the storm Giants as they give 5 CoV per hit.

Do the giants behind KT give bigger factions hits on p99?
