So long sotry short, Thoren hates me. I copied the spell file over. Everything is stock outside of the upgraded textures which is posted here on the forums. When i say any port zone standing on top of him... he says the on your way type message and thats it.

I know this was said"***If Old Man Thorren doesn't teleport you, you botched your install and are missing the correct files. Best case scenario, you will need to copy the files over from your install disc, worst case, you will need to reinstall. " however this does not help me find the problem. My install is only a month or so old so i havent had time to corrupt it.

Anyone have some advice? If not this will make Kunark hard for more people as i already had about 8 others telling me they have the same problem. Considering 8 out of 120 people... ya it could suck some.

Thanks in advance.

you might not be close enough to him or have him targeted

just putting that out there if it happens to be the case

Only reason this wouldn't work is because your zone files are missing or wrong. You did say they were modified, so I'm leaning towards that being the reason.

Go to your \Everquest folder.. verify the existence of the zone file you're trying to use. (i.e. dreadlands). Ask Thorren again.

I will give it a shot. Considering how many updated their zone textures i figured it would have been known but i will report once im done restoring a backup.

This is an extremely well known issue. It should probably be mentioned in an announcement closer to the time of release that people who did the textures update improperly may have to move their zone files from the backup folder back to their Everquest folder. The textures update doesn't include Kunark zones (nor a few others, incidentally) which explains the problem many people have been having.

Just to let you all know, I have the updated textures and run Kunark with no issues.

Thank you Nilbog and Lazortag.

The issue is exactly as stated above. I think those who followed the guide exactly will have problems. I know some as Savok stated do not have the issue but probably only updated the single files.

Long story short, It was the textures. Sorry for the post but i had people using the new textures so i skipped it. I should have known better.

Thank you guys. Hope this helps others with the same problem. Just cant stand the low res textures regardless of thier use during era. Makes my eyes burn.

So do I. Maybe I should be clearer. The problem occurs when people improperly update the textures, ie by moving all of the zone files into a backup folder, THEN downloading the textures, as opposed to copying the zone files to the folder, and overwriting existing files with the textures update (or just overwriting without backing up). The first way of doing it excludes zones like Paineel, and all Kunark zones. The second way(s) of doing it allow(s) you to access the aforementioned zones.
