Star Citizen real or hoax?

Any of you playing this at all? Following the development?

Here are some helpful tips to enjoy the Star Citizen, thing, that has and is happening and will likely continue to keep happening (allah willing)

1. Star Citizen is crowdsourced, so dont have ANY hope that it is going to be what you hope, or it says it will be, but enjoy it if it is.
2. Just shutup and enjoy it, there is about a 99.99% chance it is a total failure, but a 0.01% that it wont (and what difference does that make anyway? See Rule No. 1)
3. Get hyped, but remember rule number 1

The game is looking great, and if it continues this trajectory it might be a really cool thing, anyone have any time in the game? I played at a friends house, it was great.

I've been waiting for this dumpster fire of a game to come out. Been playing elite dangerous in the mean time. I'm guessing star citizen will be a huge fail. And the amount of money they've absorbed is ridiculous .

The last video I saw of it a ship clipped into another ship on a landing pad. The guy tried to steal the other ship and the whole thing blew up. Not to mention the performance is awful. You need top end hardware to get anything resembling playable fps.

Just another one of these early access Bullshits that may or may not be good in 5 to 10 years from now. And by then who cares.

I think its silly to crowdfund $100-200 million dollars and have nothing after 3 years, charging people $1000 for a vehicle, etc, but that is me. Go ahead and depart with your money on it though, your choice.

actually there is a counter strike style game (https://youtu.be/DXtU2vhYaE4) with their combat mechanics that is as good as any shipped COD or Battlefield game, also you can play the open world mode that has everything from questlines to crafting, interplanetary travel, a galactic map that is fucking amazing (you can play with it in a web browser even (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/starmap))...

Anyway, see rule 1! but, you never know this could be the first alternate reality that beats facebook
