View Full Version : Best place to use Brazier of Elemental Summoning?

There was another thread asking the same question, but it's closed and last post was in 2014.

Was wondering, now with 2018's patches out there what the best place to pop one of these potions would be. I'd be playing a cleric, and probably would get level 5 before popping it, so I'd have 'med' learned first.

Befallen? Upper Guk? I know the elemental is only lvl 12, but worth the ask.

Thanks fellas!

I'd do unrest yard with it at 5 and lvl up to 17ish.

Warrens entrance. Sometimes a howler will come by and fuck you up tho, but the entrance mobs will take you to lvl 8 at least. Hit lol 2 then you can let pet eat kolbolds for a few levels ezpz.

If you want to go full balls to the wall Brazier. Buy a suit of Banded armor, Brass Earrings, Derv Rings and some half assed cheap-ish 2h weapon like an Argent Defender.

Give it all to the fire pet and watch it go.

With a full suit going for 91p that's a great idea. I'm trying to think of a decent level 1 proc wep and all I can think of is the crystalline spider fang that usually goes for 200p. For under 1k you could go pretty nuts. Just pray you don't dc

61 hits on a lvl 6 pet?

VII

yeah the original post mentioned since the weapons given to pet are 30 dmg or 44 dmg like the oggok cleaver the lvl 12 pet will crush stuff for 61+ depending on the weapon

If you're going to spend a few hundred plat on gear for a temporary pet you'd probably be a lot better off giving it some Adamantite Bands and double it's HP, assuming the wiki number of 130-185 HP number for that pet is correct.

i was gonna have a cleric buff the heck out of the hp. does the info on the damage sound accurate though?

My favorite place is NRo. It's nice because you don't have to worry about trains, there's guards to run to and there's a nice spread of mob levels that'll take you to twenty in a few hours. There's plenty of safe places to go plant your ass too if you need to afk a bit.

Give your pet a wu's staff, only a hundred plat and it'll be doing double 49's.

wu’s quivering staff? it’s 23dmg. would a baton of faith which has 30 for the same 100p be worth the extra time in EC trying to buy?

would something like a Deadwood Stave get proc'd by the lvl 12 pet? or would it have to be lvl 30?

No! Give it a high-damage 2h. Like, a deathbringer rod will make it hit for 62 max instead of its normal 18.

You guys have clearly never run into any decaying skeles I charmed and gave hp rings and a 30-damage 2hb and chanter buffs, or you'd know how to fit that little level 12 fire pet.

Yeah. This is accurate.

But there's a point where you'd be better off selling the brazier and spending the plat on a powerlevel, especially if you are going to use the item solo because you'll only get half xp from any kills with it doing so much damage.

No damage cap for pets. Go for best ratio with a 2 hander, wu's is perfect.

I dunno for certain, I just remember giving the clicky fire pet a wu's staff and tearing things up non-stop.

Remember that med on a wis caster is not level 5, it is level 8.

if the potion pet does 100% of the dmg, through white dps, dd and ds... your character can't land a single punch/spell. does the pet suck 50% of the xp or 99% of the xp? if you're doing it in a duo, with two characters each using a potion pet, can the pet then do 100% of the damage and suck no xp at all?

Pet doing 51%-100% of damage takes 50% of xp. If there are 2+ people in a group the pet doesn't take any of the xp regardless of how much of the damage is done by pets.

Nice, then my vote goes to Upper Guk, Warrens, Crushbone or South Ro; preferably as a duo!

Is it possible for the pet to level up as well? I quite like the idea of giving it an oggok cleaver and full banded with hp rings. If the pet can level up as well id say uguk is easily the best.

Pets don't level up. Be careful with dungeon choices unless you know the zone like the back of your hand, or else you'll probably find yourself trained and dead/zoning before you get your money's worth from the brazier. A zone with guards and a good level range is a safer bet imo... West karana, an iksar starting zone, etc.

And as I already said, if you're to the point where you're spending 2k+ on gear for the little pecker, you'd likely be better off at that point just saving your plat, selling the brazier, and paying a druid to PL you for a couple hours. This item isn't a dragon tooth you can use in OT and spend 3 days logged on to go from 10 to 45. It's a fun way to get 5-15 or maybe 20 depending on class... and even with cheap pet gear, you'll be doing a lot of the heavy lifting once you're fighting level 12+ mobs.

Blackburrow. Find it empty on off hours. Awesome exp modifier and progression so you can potentially go from 1 to 20 and if/when shit hits the fan eventually you'll have loads of fangs as a nice bonus. Also, there are places where you can go afk. The pet absolutely wrecks in there.

The pet has pretty decent regen. Give it some cheap HP gear and a high dmg 2h and you'll be golden.

Befallen. The exp mod is nuts. I always start there and stay up to around 20-ish,

Glad someone pointed this out...not to mention the time it would take to read this thread you'd be done by now..
