I'm someone who always used the spellbook icon and was a bit sad to see it go. Most of all I was worried about not being able to access my spell sets, since they save me a lot of time switching between my Default, Buff, AE, Planes, and Solo spell sets.
If you miss the book icon underneath your spell list, you can always bind the command "/book" to a key and put that on your hot bar. Then its just a matter of getting used to the new local of where you click.
As for your spell sets. They are all still there, or at least mine were. All you need to do is "/memspellset, /savespellset, or /loadspellset" followed by the name of the spell set you wish to load, create, or memorize as. Without spell sets the switching between all your buffs can get very tedious.
So if you're worried about the missing book icon, or your spell sets, do not fret. They all still easily accessible.
