Zoning and Logon Window

Zoning from Greater Faydark into Crushbone lately has become an affair of patience. About 60 percent of the time, i'm zoning. After three minutes, I figure something else is going on. I remember when I played EQ at 28k baud AND a PC running at 500mhz and zoning was like that. Thankfully, PCs got MUCH better (so that now msux thinks they are justified using an absurdly huge operating system and thinking it's secure).

Thirty percent of the time when I logon and it goes to the server window, nothing is listed! What must i do to resolve these silly errors? Re-install eq?

How is your internet line, stable ?

Are you using windows 10 or 7 ?

Have you tried running EQ with your software firewall and antivirus disabled ?

Do you use a wireless connection ?

Have you tried changing the dns servers on your computer to google dns ?

if you try pinging the eq servers with the -t syntax do you get an even low number, any timeouts ?(anything less than 200ms is ok as long as it is even numbers and no timeouts)
