So, a long time ago yt2005 created a thread for the purpose of spreading positivity and giving credit to players who make P99 a better place to be. I came across this thread, saw that it was closed many years ago, and thought it might be a nice thing to revive.

The goal is pretty simple. Just reply to this thread and give a shoutout. Share as much, or as little, detail as you want. Feel free to give a shoutout to a player, multiple players, a guild, a GM, etc. Anyone or any group of people who mean something to you. Just keep it positive :)

My first shoutout is to yt2005 for being a force for good in P99, simply by creating a venue for people to share their stories about how other players have made their experience on the server awesome. Thank you, yt2005 :) Hope you see this eventually and realize how awesome you are for coming up with this idea!

Shout out to all past Paradox members.

Paradox was the first good experience with any guild on p99 or elsewhere. I made friends, we leveled together, and experienced Velious end game and other challenges as the guild grew. It was definitely more of a family of friends than a guild. All good things come to an end, but I'm glad I was a part of it while it lasted.

The toon I'm playing now was made in 2014 and I've only just recently returned to the wonderfully painful experience of p99. A couple of weeks ago before my monk had even hit level six I was gifted a blackjack from a fellow monk who was lower leveled than I, and the next day while sitting out front of the bank in Cab East another random low level monk exclaimed "I don't know why I made a monk, I should have made a rogue!" and gifted me an almost full set of cured silk, an essence of Dol and some other random things. It's made my lowly existence easier, and has reminded me that there's a community here that is only rivaled by classic back in the day. I don't remember your names, but thank you friends!

I played EQ from beta and continued for years. Then finally, I left the game. I'd played many other MMO's but they weren't the same. I then tried EQ again, and it wasn't the same. I didn't care for it at all. Then one of my friends told me about E99. And this is exactly what I was missing and looking for!

Shout out to Ashon the druid. When I rolled here 2 years ago I created my first char on the server, a woodelf druid. Literally within 20 minutes of creating my character I started in GFAY and there was a giveaway going on at the spires. I ran over there and it was Ashon rolling numbers then giving stuff out to the people who could roll closest to his numbers. Apparently I rolled the exact same number one of the times so he told me I won the "grand prize," he gave me 2K along with a ceremonial sword and some special stat food.

The 2k definitely gave me a nice start and access to some instant newb gear. I still have the food and the sword in my bank long after my druid got his epic and hit 60. Thank you Ashon!

Also, obviously, shout out to the devs and the staff for keeping this place going!

Shout out to my brother, who wayyyyyyy back in the day convinced me that killing black bears with melee ruined your chances of getting an HQ pelt because the sword would damage it. He told me I should use magic instead. And I believed. Part of me still believes.

This was about a year ago. I was around level 30 on my first toon in WFP leveling baking. Someone sends me a tell and asks if I can come buff him in the noob area. I did and then went back to the oven. He sends me a tell a little later asking me if I can come back and do it again saying something like, "I found out that with the thorns I can kill so many at once!" I went back to him after I finished what I was doing. While on my way, he got himself killed because he went into the city with his aoe song playing. We laughed about it and I buffed him again. I inspected him and he had nothing on him, just the starting equipment. I gave him a couple small things that I had on me that came from named animals in NK. He asked me how long I had been on the server and if this were my first toon. After a bit of chatting, he tells me to go to the tunnel and meet him at t1. (I didn't even know what t1 meant at the time). He logs in a character there and hands me a Sarnak Battle Shield, Spell: Form of the Hunter (I was a druid), and 5k pp and then says, "This is what you get when you help newbs. Keep doing it." He tells me that the shield will be good for its resists for raiding, though I wasn't there yet. A year or so later and now I'm there and I use it all the time. I will always keep it as a reminder of the generosity that had been shown to me and that people like him exist on this server...even among guilds with notorious reputations.

I have been here for a little, but have met a ton of wonderful people that have made my current leveling process on my little druid a bliss!

Some have helped with buffs or a timely heal in the middle of a tough fight, others have helped me get better gear than the measly cloth I got off skellys in NQ.

Othes have helped me get spells at my level, when plat was very rough.
