Kedge Keep Questions (pally spell/tracking zone, etc)

Howdy,

I'm at the zone in with my 54 ranger and don't see Phinny or the Swirspine Guardians on track. Should I be able to see them if up?

Also have my pally there with a lvl 12 mage. My brother and I were going to pull some sneaky tricks to get the bones assuming Phinny is dead. Just don't know the repop on things or if I should creep up further.

It's probably easier to pet track with the mage. Just spell it right.

I have spent way too much time in Kedge on my druid, until the exp nerf back in July. Since a lot of the zone is in the Z-axis, I can track everything from just about anywhere in Kedge, including Phinny and his guards.

A ranger with maxed tracking should have no problem!

Park a pet near the guards swim the mage back near room with hidden door, have pet attack one of the guards, all 4 will chase mage, either gate or die. Before mage pet attacks have your paladin parked on the opposite side of the phinny room, once mage gets agro swim in get piece swim out.
Swirlspine Guardians only pop if one of the 4 guards above phinny cavern are killed.

On my druid I can see Phinny on track at ent when he's up, so ranger should be able to.

Got this done in 15 mins :). Quick recap if it helps anyone. Just my exact plan; other ways to do it thanks to people on this thread and elsewhere. THANKS AGAIN!!

Prep: Bring some cloudy and fish gill potions. Practice route and bone placement on EZ server if possible. Get your pally’s swimming up to a decent level just because. I left all his gear in the bank just to be safe. Track or confirm Phinny is down. Get a friend who can follow basic instructions.

1. Bind pet class at zone line.
2. Swim both toons to Phinny’s lair.
3. Hug right wall with pally over to north-east corner.
4. Put pet on ledge overlooking lair and target south horse.
5. Swim pet toon back a ways, at least past gated door.
6. Start gate spell, click Pet Kill action on pet window at about one casting bubble to go 10-20%).
7. Pally waits for them all to kill pet and chase caster. Takes 5-10 seconds to all get out of out.
8. Pally swims to south rock about half way down. It’s a little bag to the left of the rock. Pally Leatherfoot Caps out.
9. Pet class zones before they show up. Or dies at ZL if Pally still looking.

I helped my brother level up a 12 mage to get bind. He didn’t even die. The horses are slower than I expected :). Phinny would have definitely complicated things. My old nerves prob couldn’t handle a Shiny Brass Idol/Cap method. Plus I’m cheap :p
