Is it true that during that "Mandatory Beta patch" this past weekend, any and all high levels that played recieved "early access" to dungeons like Howling Stones and Sebilis? You know, they quested for the keys durin the patch, and once Kunark opens, they will be first to get into these zones?

I dunno, but word on the street outside these thick, rubber-padded walls says that this patch was part of a plan to help one or more of the high-end guilds get a head start on Kunark....

Yeah bro, Im sure the people actually testing / know the inside of dungeons will be the first there....

WTF are you even asking?

BETA server is like Vegas.

Stuff that happens there stays there.

What benefit would the devs gain by giving high end guilds early access?

It's true you could port in to those zones at will. And people were encouraged to do so in order to find bugs, pathing issues etc. In fact access to those zones is still available for anyone and everyone willing to test.

Also, if there was a conspiracy they would not have made it a mandatory beta so that everyone on the server is on BETA... they would just go there during off hours. Your word on the street kind of spoke before thinking.

Awww you mean I don't get to keep the keys and exp that I farmed up and the thousands of platinum I exploited on the beta server in live? Boooo

This is in the running for dumbest conspiracy theory on p1999 yet if I understand it, which im not entirely sure that I do. We got our keys on the live server somehow while the server was down? We got things on the beta server which will retroactively be added to our live accounts when kunark opens?

I'm askin if some/all of the high levels who played during that 'Mandatory Beta Patch' will get the special privelege of being the first in the long line of players to get the chance to get their hands on a Fungi, Runed Fighters Staff, Moss Covered Twig....etc etc, ya know, any of the other really nifty stuff that will be nerfed, soon after Kunark launches.

You sound defensive. Are you one of these people?

I'm certainly not. Are you saying because they got to go in to these zones, they know how to find stuff? Because not only are those zones still available but they have been available for a decade.

As far as keys go, you currently don't need to be keyed to enter said zones on BETA, you just get ported there from EC. As far as special privileges go, everyone will have to dungeon crawl to any camp on live just the same and will have to do their key quests the same.

I think that covers all your questions.

Yes. Because those that put in the time on the beta will know exactly were the spawn points are for Hunter and Forager, as well as where the cycle spawns are in FM. They may or may not be exactly were they were on Live.

Will it be significant, probably not. But anyone that has practiced will have a leg up on those that didn't.

Bingo!

And why anyone fails to understand my theory just goes straight over my head. Alot of the player base on here, especially the ones who frequently post on this forum seem to hold themselves at pretty high standards in terms of Intelligence/common sense, so I assumed they would understand not only what I was asking, but would have a sense of humor about it as well.

this should have been in RnF. The only advantage given will be to those who have been testing beta since it opened, if any at all.

Yeah man, the people in these positions will be there first... Why? Because when kunark drops only a few guilds are geared to fight this shit right away.

I disagree that only a few people are properly geared to camp "Fungi, Runed Fighters Staff, Moss Covered Twig....etc etc". What special gear are you referring to that only a few people on the server have access to? Sincere question.

I think hes trying to say that the guilds who currently have trouble breaking into hate/fear which is full of lvl 49-51 monsters do not have a snowballs chance in hell at breaking into Upper Seb let alone the seb sewers.

This was the master plan, unfortunately, the GMs effed up and let *everyone* into beta.

Thankfully only the uber guilds and VIP people actually bothered to log in and test the zones. So the original intent of the conspiracy stayed intact.

Oh that... that's not really about gear so much. first time Divinity killed Naggy we had 1 piece of planar gear on the raid. And our first official Fear break as a guild was more or less the same situation. This is going back over a year now but you get the point. I agree that gear helps, but you need something else that comes long before the gear.

It was really hard to get into howling stones on beta...you had to talk to the old man and type "howling stones" - very elite stuff

Personally, I think it's all a result of the social impact of The Great Gecko v. Squirrel War of 2010.

*hay u guyz do I get to keep all my levels on beta?* lol

The only mistake with beta was the fact we had the same 100 people asking the same fucking thing over and over in /ooc.

Beta server was a wonderful place to be, till that happened. and lol@ the people binding at Sebilis zone in. Good job

This was obviously a decoy conspiracy theory created by the devs and gms so that we would dismiss it as crazy. Now that our defenses are down, the real conspiracy can continue without scruitiny.

I think there was a different conspiracy at work - a society of masked men infiltrated the beta server during mandatory beta, asked as many stupid questions (stupid question defined as something clearly written ON THE THREAD ABOUT MANDATORY BETA) in /ooc as possible, started a massive political/religious debate, and repeatedly asked the same questions over and over and over and over and over so nothing would actually get done and many members would delete their accounts and throw their computers out of the window in extremely intense frustration and annoyance.

Luckily, they failed.

Heheh Oh look, someone gotta bring the BANHAMMER into this....So I guess while "the Hoff" was drunk, and feeding his face with Wendy's baconators like a pregnant woman he gave the GM's/Devs of the Project1999 project a call an said "Guess what?? Someone is trolling the Server Chat on the forums with a Conspiracy Theory"!! "Better git the BANHAMMER!""
