View Full Version : Probably a dumb hybrid question
Lets say I have a decent weapon - a guardian mace. (14/24)
I also have a kinda crappy nuke (41 damage)
Am I better off just wailing on something, or will the damage from the nuke make up for missed swings?

If soloing. Save all mana for heals/lulls.
If grouping. Save all mana for flash of light or roots if group needs help with cc.

With my Ranger from like 20-30, with a pretty solid Woodsman's Staff plus a SCW for haste, it was definitely better to spam Ignite (37 damage) while I was fighting than to just fight.

For sk, if soloing you definitely want to mostly melee and use mana on taps to heal yourself, mana regen is quiker than hp...
When grouped, dc, vortex and eventually darkness is what you want to spend your mana on.
Most of your (low) dps will be melee in both cases...

The following assuming solo. Groups you are just casting quick cheap aggro and utility spells. FoL, lull, stun, etc.
Technically with a fast weapon and Ward Undead it’s probably a dps wash. Is more mana efficient to use your Hp/ac buff for healing after a fight until you get Healing or Greater healing. Also by then your undead DD gets higher dmg and you can use a slow 2hander. At that point it becomes essentially a triple hit for burning down undead casters. Warrior mobs root/healing is usually a better route.
I’d definitely pull with it and occasionally use it to keep Evocation up. Then about lvl 30 get a Baton of Faith or Iceflame and givem hell...or heaven I guess. :p
