Hello,
I recently started playing, I played way back in the day not long after EQ launched. Anyway, I would like my wife and son to play with me but have not had any response on an IP exemption request after about 5 days of waiting, any suggestions? :)

Just continue waiting - it can take them a while to get to the exemption requests. I think a couple weeks is about the average.

you can get a vpn for like 12 bucks a month while you wait. it's not illegal to use a VPN if you legitimately have other people playing. then just close your VPN when the IP goes through. don't box though man you WILL get banned the GMs can always tell !

Mine took about 6 weeks. I had given up and then I got the email saying it went through.

Keep bumping it

That way it stays at the top and they will never get to it

They get done in batches every few weeks.

Our family is still waiting on our IP exemption request. It's been almost 2 weeks at this point. My wife asks everyday if it went through but nothing so far.

Bump daily. If they don't respond in a few hours, make a post here - https://www.project1999.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=30

Once we ban a certain number of players boxing, we start on the next batch of exemptions. Keeps things balanced

I hear that. Now that I have my wife interested, I don't get to play my character as much as I want to, I have to share, lol!!!!

Llandris can you please release the % of ip exemption recipients who wind up banned for boxing? Please please :)

:)I got an IP exemption maybe 4? years ago when my (then) girlfriend wanted to try to play. She logged in once and never played again.

It took about a week to get the request approved IIRC.

I broke up with her and am now happily married to someone that knows EverQuest is not actually a game, but a mental disorder.

Awww, that one is a keeper indeed ;)

Got home from work today and asked my husband again if the expetion had gone through yet. Still nothing, 17 days since petitioning. I am off tomorrow and sure would love to play.

The search feature can answer many of life's EQ-based questions, including IP exemptions; whether they be for two or more people actually playing, or one person acting as such. Either way, they do them in batches, so be patient. :)

2018 and people don't know what a VPN is

Condom give-aways and newer antibiotics have diminished them except in heavy opiode-use circles.

Someone should do a quick check as to when the last time 2 accounts were logged in on this IP. Still has IP Exemption, and admits that after playing once, she never played again. Sooooo if 2 accounts have been logged in after that initial time, then you've dual boxed? Just sayin.

That's a contentious point of view when you take in to account it's from someone with such strong 'make the server burn and fuck everyone else' thoughts regarding something like a ring roll.

Regardless there are thousands of IP exempt accounts floating about, and a genuine need for maybe 50? so to me, they should all be cancelled and start again. The PVE advantage they gave in some zones was astronomical, and to my knowledge no-one's been banned for having a toon at 'char select', but I could be wrong. Some bugs such as instantly punting toons when switching accounts on same IP were just ridiculously exploited. Today they're exploited heavily still by /q'ing out of game and not being 1018'd on a seperate account which I see people do often.

I got an exemption on a few accounts a long time ago for a genuine reason, forgot I had it, and one day (recently, like a year ago?) by complete accident left two toons logged in, one was just standing around for 3 hours while i played the other. Petitioned to have my exemption removed and explain the obvious flags it would have raised, and because it was such a dangerous thing to have when you're as clumsy as myself.

You realize you're talking to someone copping feelings over another random person boxing in a 19 year old elf sim right? I just wanted to put that in perspective for you.
