What's a low level magic weapon I could farm/quest myself? I'm a bard over on the qeynos side.

http://wiki.project1999.com/Gnoll_Hide_Lariat drops in Blackburrow.

http://wiki.project1999.com/Gnoll_Hide_Lariat from Splitpaw Commander in Blackburrow is probably the closest.

If you're willing to travel, you could get two magic weps in Crushbone. http://wiki.project1999.com/Dragoon_Dirk from Ambassador DVinn and http://wiki.project1999.com/Screaming_Mace which is a quest reward for rare items found in zone.

Finding a TR group in Crush is a lot harder than it used to be, but you still see them every once in a while during primetime. Hope this helps!

I just checked every quest in: North Qeynos, South Qeynos, Qeynos Hills, Surefall Glade, Halas, West Karana and North Karana, and I can confirm that there are exactly zero low-level Bard quests for a magic weapon. There are low-level magic weapon quests for Warriors, Paladins, Clerics, Shaman, and Rogues, but not Bards.

There is one quest (http://wiki.project1999.com/The_Gnoll_Slayer) for a magic weapon for Bards, but it requires beating the boss of Blackburrow, so unless you can find a high-level player to help you with that you'll have to go with Dino's suggestion, or some other dropped item.

Or of course you could also try to find someone to port you to EC, where you can likely beg a magic weapon off someone.

You can buy combine weapons from gypsies in NK.

https://wiki.project1999.com/Combine_Weapons

Can’t remember how much they cost but shouldn’t be too much. A lvl 1 mage also can summon you magic daggers, I believe, which is the cheapest option. Just roll a lvl 1 mage and drop transfer. You will outgrow them real fast I bet.

You can probably get better magic weapons cheaper at the East Commonlands player bazaar than Combine weapons from a vendor.

Did they nerf that?

No, he's just making a joke because to do the wisps you need a magic weapon (which you'd need money to buy ... but if you had the money to buy it you wouldn't be asking).

Hah oh boy that went over my head. Maybe my terrible bard voice can sing them to death

You could actually kite them all down. I've never done it myself, but I know of several bards that would round up all the wisps in the zone and kite them down. http://wiki.project1999.com/The_Techie%27s_Bard_AE_Kiting_Guide has a short guide on it if you're interested.

Make plat doing rabid animal/putrid skeleton quests. Head to North Karana at 10 to buy a combine weapon (don't be put off spending all your savings by the price, they all resell to vendor for about 90% of their retail... Except the great staff. Avoid buying those from vendor. Learnt the hard way on that).

When you find a player selling a half decent magic weapon just vendor back the combine and use the plat to pay for the player bought item.

That quest exists, but it's not doable by a low-level character. It was the one I was referring to in that quote, and in fact there is a link to the quest in the quote itself.

I was looking at this note on it. Humm, I’m confused. I guess you can get the upgraded (non classic) one?
“In Classic this weapon had no bane damage. It is not a MAGIC ITEM.[1] “

I dunno if you would rather farm something, since that was the point of your op, but I've got Whip of Strangulation right now for 50pp in EC. Message Fanny.

Lowest Level Magic Weapon:
http://wiki.project1999.com/Summoned:_Dagger

The spell cost 2 silver approximately. Every dagger after that is free.

Ah, I misunderstood you. Yeah, based on that note it seems like it's not magic, but now I'm curious. Time to kill some gnolls in Blackburrow ...
