No, when you use an illusion you lose your own racial advantages. So, shrink from cobalt bracer > de illusion.

it's likely adding a +1 to a database counting how many of each item has been dropped so they can make sure too many don't enter the world and turn it off when the numbers get to what they're planning.

But i heard in game that the items will start dropping at the beginning of the event, not the release of Kunark. Was curious if you could tell which? Thanks again!

Probably because they don't think it's possible due to the eqemulator code to add and remove drops from mobs serverwide like that without a patch.
