** Brought to you by Bigfizz/Mayme **

We are still riding high from our last two mid level ALS events that had a big turnout from our guildies. The first was a raid on Runnyeye Citadel, where piles of goblin corpses were left rotting in their filth, followed by a riotous auction at the their shady goblin bank. Many deals were struck as the bids were flying!

The second event was a crawl into the Crype of Dalnir, followed by another celebratory (and blasphemous!) auction at the church.

This next event will be open up to the public and friends of the guild alike, with much fun and glory to be had! Without further ado, the event will be:

Lvl 1 raid on Qeynos Aqueducts and Shark Pool Shenanigans (SPS)!

When: Monday night July 9th, 9pm EDT
Where: Aqueducts false wall east of the North Qeynos gates

Binds will be provided. While arriving early is encouraged to maximized your fun, late-comers won't have a problem catching up; just follow the crumpled half elf corpses of your guide, Aqueductsraid. The cardinal orientation of her head will light your path!

Many of Auld vets and newbies alike will be rolling lvl 1 Qeynos toons, or running lvl 1’s from other starting cities. Any lvl 1 outside ALS is more than welcome to join in on the fun! The only prerequisites are that your toon be lvl 1 and untwinked i.e. starting weapons and soiled shirts (and underpants, if issued!). That way, you'll be right at home in the sewers!

Shenanigans and charades are in store immediately following the raid, time permitting.

Please send tells to Mayme, or stop by our discord server https://discord.gg/unUbM2p before hand to make contact. If curious about joining <Auld Lang Syne> with said level 1 toon, please review the #als_charter and post your interest in #new_applicants after you get there.

Good hunting!

Hope dread corpse ain't up! Good luck farming those limestone rings, aligator tooth earrings, thick black cloaks, orders of thunder and golden pendants. I'll be honest, I doubt you'll be able to get any dolls off sharks though.

Again good luck!

As a Necromancer, I can wholly say that this event has been in the planning for weeks! Each day, I'd poke that corpse wondering what it was doing there and now I finally know my answer~! \o/

I'm an Ikky Shaman in the guild and support this message! We're all really kind. PLUS we have a banging Kunark static group going in which I've spent almost all my 29 levels. That's serious dedication folks.

I'm living my childhood all over again and it's all thanks to ALS

How often does the guild do these kind of events? And typically after the guild makes lvl 1 chars how many members are usually on to exp up through the levels together?

We don't do too many open events like this but we will be doing more in the future, including open raids. <Auld Lang Syne> has a very large population of low to mid tier levelers and a pretty respectable 25-35 man raid force (on a good night). There are people of all levels to work with at all times.

Come have some fun!

Last time we did it I remember at least a few of the attendees leveling up together, and this one looks like it's going to be even bigger.

With anything in EQ it is what you make it. Come have some good times, meet some folks, and hang around with us if you dig it!

Did anyone win the fabled Limestone Ring?

Did Dread Corpse cause you any problems?

Who was sadly able to return news of Ronne Castekinn's untimely death to Merona?!

As we were dividing our adventurers into their battle groups, a fight broke out unexpectedly when an allied Iksar punched Queen Klicnik in the back. A few lives were taken in this skirmish, but it would set the tone for the rest of the evening as the Queen was felled and her eye was looted.

ALS (coincidence?) should try to make it on Rise of Zek. Fresh start for everyone so there is no issue with keeping it legit. Just opened a week ago. You guys tried on red99 and realized it is awful. Try it on a fresh server with multiple end game guilds playing.

Thumpy Irontoe, mysterious brother to Trumpy Irontoe, was meandering about in the sewers. All it took was a dubious look towards the group to incite violence. True to his name, Thumpy was pounding our allied adventurers. A handful were killed in self defense. Once the battle was out of reach for Thumpy, he knew his only chance was to swim for it. Thumpy cut his teeth in the sewers and knows the Aqueducts well. He also has great swimming speed. He was pulling away from the group with great haste until Glerkybop, the feisty Iksar from earlier, flexed his natural water prowess and caught up to him. That spelled the end of Thumpy Irontoe and the party was unexpectedly glad to have crossed paths with this Iksar who saved the day in a land far from his home.

Glerkybop is in the thick of it again! Both he and fellow Iksar Chumyum were incensed at the sight of seeing Frogloks roaming free and unshackled. These wayward frogloks were no match...

Adventurers were disappearing in the water and nobody knew why. Something ferocious was underfoot. Large piranha claimed many lives before we spied him. Then we had to jump in to save the survivors. This wouldn't be the last underwater foe we had to face in the dark and scummy waters of Qeynos Aqueducts...

hagglebaby
07-10-2018, 01:47 PM
In some ways this was a dark day for some of us. Qeynos native paladins and monks were overruled by the war wishes of the rogue adventurers and foreigners. The Sewer Sentinels, Guards of Qeynos were slain in cold blood. They were more powerful than our party, but too few in number. After they fell we took over their "firepot" camp, as one adventurer quipped...Some were not in the mood to laugh and hung their head in shame, vowing to regain faction with their people.

The way I will continue to do events is to hold a little mini game, before, during or after the raid. The winner will choose the target or zone of the next event and i will put a spin on it to give it ALS flavor. This event was called shark pool shenanigans. I soothed both sharks then all the lvl 1's were instructed to jump in if they wished to participate.

Participants had two options that they would have to figure out on the fly: band together and fight or attempt to be the last one standing. Last one standing would be the winner and choose the next zone/target. Most were noble and attempted to band together to kill a shark. These sharks are extremely high lvl which you wouldn't know unless you've hunted them, the wiki is unclear as to the lvl of the QA sharks.

Not surprisingly the rogues had no interest in banding together and just tried to sneak swim to a corner of the shark pool. The winner of the Shark pool Shenanigans was one of those rogues and he happened to be an officer of Kittens. After some collaboration he decided he wanted to do Kael Arena as his choice for the next target. ALS and Kittens will do a casual collaboration at the arena as Scribner's choice of the next target. The mini game for that event will be in Eastern Wastes and will be called Furryfoot finders.
