I quit playing p99 just because of the amount of time it consumed. Recently started looking at the forums again and I forgot how awesome a community this is. Just felt like saying that. Everquest will always be my all time favorite game and p99 is as good as it gets today.

Easier said than done. I randomly started looking at old eq stuff a few weeks ago (played on Innoruuk way back when, and got nostalglic) - two days later, I had downloaded Titanium and am now playing every morning. EverCrack is real!

This. Or, just set a fixed playtime, like say "Thursday night from 6:30pm to 10pm is Everquest time", and the rest of the time don't let yourself play, because if you do you'll have to stop entirely.

LOL. I was the chanter in the group with you in hands. I remember you saying you had to go soon because you were falling asleep. Then you were just standing in the middle of the room unresponsive. We tried casting spells and stuff on top of you to make noise and wake you up. Also got a druid to run over to evac you as well, but we forgot that you were the group leader when the druid showed up and no one could invite him.

You did great pulling all the way to the end. Legit monk.

Yeah it’s so nice to just log in and play once in awhile. I usually log in just to raid, but occasionally get the time to group or level alts with friends. Fun times when they come around! :)

it's pretty much like any 'drug' or things you are addicted to.
ask any smoker if it would sound fun to smoke only on mondays... this is just small dose torture just to remember to suffer for 6 days every week. it's like self-induced male periods but very different.

but don't fool yourself thinking you'll play only 'once in a while' for kicks a giggles.
this is not how eq works. achievements take time and immersion.

pretty good advice here, OP. take up a abstract derivative of EQ, liek FQ or a contemporary analog that caters to limited play time liek ffxiv or even a alternate real world analog with delayed/intermittent engagement liek collecting. searching for a piece to add to you collection is half the fun! :3

Yeah, I think if I play that's how I'll have to approach it. Between family life and class I seldom have free time where I'm by myself and not committed to anything else. My main is a druid and I think I'll just log on now and then and port people around for fun. You know, travel Norrath, buff newbs, that kind of thing.

EQ(to me) is like a kind of powerful party drug(cocaine), where you berg out for a while then step back in disbelieve for a period of clarity, before returning again when u got the itch. Just dont get hooked or u might be doomed.
