Being a warrior, the desk was merely there to show his wealth, not his penchant for studies. The bed dominated the center of the room, raised on a small dais to attract attention. Because the fanbase of EQ has always been relatively small compared to other MMO's and vastly smaller compared to any high fantasy franchises like Elder Scrolls ect. By the time of 2003, EQ peaked at 500k online subscribers. Many MMO's since then and even during that time period (FFXI or Lineage 2) surpassed that with twice as many active users. EQ as a whole is a 'dead' franchise with the exception of P99 and some leftovers still keeping EQ1 and EQ2 afloat. That's probably why you don't see anyone making fanart.

What's wrong with the Ratonga? High Fantasy has a lot of various rat styled races. Even classic Everquest in Scars Of Velious had a rat race in the Dragon Necropolis.

I think the only problem with them was that like all non-Froglok races at the start of EQ2, they all walked straight and a humanoid skeletal frame and didn't have any unique structure to them. They should've been more like the Ashloks were an EQ2 rat race in later expansions which imo were awesome even if they were Skaven ripoffs from Warhammer.

Granted, Verant handled it horribly, the story was on a third party site that probably very few players ever read. By banning Mystere they probably hurt themselves more than by ignoring it as it got way more attention than it deserved.

Verant/989Studios/SoE were all the same thing. Verant was basically a temporary studio that 989 Studios created as a failsafe if Everquest failed at launch in terms of critical reception and sales expectations so that it didn't tarnish their reputation (they didn't have much to begin with, Twisted Metal 3 was shit). Eventually they just morphed into SoE by the time Verant split from 989 Studios. In others Verant/SoE did.

And As stated in prior posts in this thread, Mcquaid and Smedley were both heavy Christians, on top of this, they had no idea how to deal with this incident. Honestly they should've done nothing. Verant/SoE had a horrible reputation building up for them in the industry and going after people's personal lives or whatever as an excuse to banish them from your game was a shitty move. As long as that person isn't being some creepy fuck ingame, then who cares.
