And I somehow have a hangover this morning. I can’t even hang with my younger self anymore

I’ve heard the trick is to stay in a constant state of semi-drunk for years. Worked for my ex-roommate/ex-friend. Hope you're out there with an inflamed pancreas, Bob.

Part of growing up is eschewing shots and cheap beer for some neat whisky (or Manhattan or Old Fashioned, for example), or craft beer/cider. And there is always a nice glass of wine. No need to throw a bucket of cold water on your liver just to see if is still alive.
Edit: Not saying your liver will be better off for it, but it is a good opportunity to class your liver up a bit with proper boozy delights. :)

Hangovers are like 75% dehydration (bullshit number since I forget the exact number, but it's something like that). Next time drink a glass of water for every shot (or at least every two shots) and I'll bet you feel a lot better the next day.

He spent 15 years
Getting loaded for 15 years
Till his liver exploded
Now what's Bob gonna do
Now that he can't drink?
The Doctor said: "What ya been thinking bout?"
Bob said, "that's the point. I won't think bout nothing.
Now I gotta do something else

Someone's with me
I saw NOFX earlier this summer on their craft beer tour thing they did. They still got it
They're one of the punk bands from our area to have aged nicely. I don't make it out to shows very often these days having young kids and such, but they are of the group that I'll make an effort for.

I appreciate that they've been hard-charging and a very successful independent band for so many years. And, they are punk as fuck, which works pretty well for a punk band. Mike can be a super douche, but that isn't new either.
I highly recommend their Backstage Passport tour documentaries.
