GM events 4 all of p99

I remember back in 2012 the GMs did the BoTB and also a free for all PvP battle in lake Rathe as two different GM events. I thought these were both fun and a good way to get a lot of players in one location as a community. I would enjoy more events similar to these put on by the GMs. Maybe like once a month or once every few months. I’m sure plenty of players would have different ideas but some that came to mine were another free for all PvP battle last man standing. Also like a 6v6 PvP tournament. Finally possibly a 6 player entry where GMs would create various mobs or a single tough mob that the group would have to defeat only using the 6 player classes that each individual team choose.. Maybe have each guild enter 1 -3 teams of 6 and see which 6 man team could go the farthest against different challenges. Be very cool to see how various 6 man groups dealt with various challenges based on the classes they had. Anyone else have any ideas or think these sort of GM events would be good and fun for the p99 community?

GM events are complete brain aids to run on the staff end, partly due to the GM client never leaking. It's all pre-scripting and #commands.

I remember an an event on the German Kael Drakkal Server (not sure if it was held on all Servers.)

You'd form a group of six and meet in the arena. GMs would then summon mobs to defeat for a group. If that group won/lost, next group would get the same mobs etc. If a group lost, they were out, so this was some Kind of last-group-standing ccenario as well, but PvE focused.

Fun part was, they summoned existing raid targets for the group to beat, but the mobs had different models. This was far into PoP or something iirc, so I remember our group engaging two naked halflings that turned out to be Avatar of War and King Tormaxx in disguise.

We eventually wiped because some disguised Velious Dragon pushed our healer into the wall of the arena and got him stuck there. Was fun nevertheless!

Most people only want to do events so they can get a Manastone or a Guise. When someone who did 2 points of damage to w/e the GM Quest Mob is doesn't get a 500k item they go "wow what a waste of time this event was."

More successful events would be ones assisted by GM's that are ran by the community.

Its DoF. And we can only do so much. As well as Vik is the only one really active these days.

Ive moved away from it and Sorn has too. Speedi is spotty at best.
