Last night was playing on my Troll sk, with unbuffed strength of 180ish. Since he is level 8, damage cap is supposed to be 20, but once I got shaman strength buff, took my str to 230, I was doing 28 damage with ornate rune blade.

Makes me wonder if I just need to try to push my STR above 200 so I can get the additional bonus above cap.

Thoughts?

20 is weapon damage, extra effects are different

the damage cap is still 20. The dmg bonus from str is calculated seperately. You would be doing 28 dmg with a base 10 dmg weapon as well at this lvl and str.

STR can take you over the level restriction cap. this is true.
But not by much.

I've also found that with str over 200 I get +8 max hits
but 20s are more common, its not like every hit is 28

now im kind of wishing i would have gone ogre now, would be nothing to get to 200

The racial regen of troll seemed so appealing, but how much time does SK sit on his butt?

you have a big nut sack that's why.
Ogres are eunuch, the dark elves use them as warriors.
