Hey folks, work by others has shown that illusion skeleton helps with OT faction, so long as you are of a good race or Iksar. Neutral/other evil races don't get the benefit.

It seems that around dubious, Iksar and goodies can use illusion skeleton to jump up to Amiable faction.

I'm here to add this nugget of info that I haven't seen others mention: Necro's can cast illusion skeleton via Ignite Bones. Anyone of level to use hammer can easily tank the 500hp activation cost =)

https://wiki.project1999.com/Ignite_Bones

The illusion is identical to the AoM/Call of Bones illusion. I did some faction testing today on my Iksar Necro who has near rock-bottom Scowling OT faction. Both Call of Bones and Ignite Bones take me threatening.

Three ticks is plenty of time to turn in the quest items. In other words, you can get the same benefit of a 200k item by being nice to your local necromancer. If you need someone to illusion you, hit me up on Innominate. I'm happy to do it for free, just cover my port costs if I'm not already on kunark.

Cheers

Very nice idea! Bone Melt is also found as a proc on the relatively affordable Paebala Warbone, which will also turn the target into a skellington for 3 ticks.

You can also use this trick to buy a hole key on certain races/classes

Alliance neck will take you to dubious as an iksar in skeleton form.

Ignite Bones isn't going to cut it for most people. You need amiable for the hand-in. Skeleton illusion alone is only going to get you to maybe dubious/apprehensive. Goodly races start at scowling and iksars are threatening, so it'll take faction work first. Maybe if you've been killing Kunark dragons and staying away from KC, otherwise puppet strings are still the go-to.

KC and Howling Stones and Kaesora.

Nothing will ever replace puppet strings, but definitely handy if you're braiding your way and can't (or don't want) to pay for the charge ^^

I thought the same then Alderon came in and crushed me with faction esoterics, logic, and perusing of archives. He convinced me it was classic at the least. Wish I could dig up the old bug report that dealt with this same thing.

Right, I was posting for folk who are doing/have done some faction work already, and are looking for a little to get over the top.

The 200k item I was referring to was AoM, not strings.

My Iksar SK is still screwed, but thanks anyway.
