You have to love the feeling when you drop a bag to transfer some items for your alt only to not be able to log in to the server because something is funky with the login server. RIP items... =(

I needed the fungi more than you Thanks
Sad to see all these failed drop transfers. Just ask someone! 99% of the time ppl are going to be cool about it. I think GMs can restore items that just poofed in a ground drop, but if someone picked it up you're SOL.

You've been on the server way long enough to find some people to transfer items =P

You could drop something anywhere in Erudin Palace and be 99.99% sure that no one will pass by and see it. I think you have 7 minutes before things poof so even a temp link glitch shouldn't be a problem.
A power failure, however, is simply the gods saying you weren't meant to have that item.

Ask anyone in a big guild or any of the big dealers in EC

Or dial a port. There's practically always one on, and while they'd probably do it for free I always give a small donation; to me it's well worth not having to risk losing my items.
Think of it as an extremely inexpensive insurance policy. And as an added bonus, if the two characters are in different zones the dial a porter can save you from having to travel yourself (this is almost always the case for me since my alts are in whatever city they started at, but my main is in EC buying stuff for the alts).

But when that happens the GMs will refund your stuff (and maybe suspend the guy who had the "accident"). When you drop it and someone picks it up, you're 100% SOL.
Personally I'd rather have 100% certainty of keeping my stuff, with a slight chance of whoever I ask for help screwing me over temporarily (and then getting screwed by the staff as punishment) than have any chance of truly losing my items.

Don't some mobs wear the armor and weapons?
I would haste the mob as well, then it can go on a murder spree in the newbie yard.

Poor Kong! :( Sorry bro hope you didn't loose nothing good you can /petition and I am pretty sure if nobody picked it up they will give it back to you.. just gotta play that wait game.
I do ground transfers because I dont trust others. If the item poofs I wont get it back and if a player steals it, which to me seems more likely, I won't get it back.

I literally have no words
Yesterday I messaged an /anon DAP Officer in Rivervale and he spent a few minutes me with a 2 bag transfer. Even gave my toon his Frozen Orb because of Lore, then I just logged back on and gave it to him. Tipped 40pp and we wished each other good luck.
Sometimes I drop transfer, but not 2 bags worth of gear
i only use drop transfers for tradeskills things (gnome cookie cutters!) anything worth anything i will ask a friend :)

Don't people have guild mates they can trust to help transfer?

Of course we do. But bag drops are easy and painless usually. I didn't lose any expensive items luckily. Just a wisdom jewelry starter kit and 4 lore gnoll pages for my druid who was camped out in the Infected Splitpaw Lair. Log in server has been the shits for awhile now and I just wanted to rant for a second.
P.S. I still want shared bank.
