Your Biggest P99 Regrets [Archive]

What have you done in p99 that you regret the most? Not picking a certain race? Maybe diety? Spend years with a guild that ended up screwing you over?

For me it took place shortly after Velious launched here, I had someone offer me Elder Beads for my Fungi Tunic and I declined. Whenever i see Elder Beads for sale @ 350-400k i die a little bit inside. Or when i see a gnome rogue...(should have rolled gnome)

What are your biggest P99 regrets?

My 2 biggest I would say are :

1. not making my warrior a dark elf .
-- I had a level 40 wood elf warrior that i really loved the look of and loved the name i gave him but my fiance was making a new character so i took the opportunity to reroll as a decent compliment to her class and also switch to a race at the time i believed to be a very rare combination (or so i thought). But now I have an epic , Tov geared iksar warrior and I'd give just about anything to swap him to a dark elf which I believe is an even more extremely rare combination and also a killer looking character that I would love playing. But alas, it would be painful to not only level to 60 again but also waste all the dkp i already spent on him and purchase another round of green dragon scales. Maybe one day ...

2. Taking a break from the game shortly before velious dropped and missing the chance to get atleast 1 set of beads.
--obviously acquiring a couple sets of beads is the biggest game changer anyone could have the opportunity to do because not too far in the future they start selling for 350-400k so even if you just acquired 1 set for your main and 1 extra set and called it a day ... that's an instant fortune.

An honorable mention is rolling a cleric as my first p99 toon. I dont regret it so to speak but it took me years to get to playing an enchanter and find out how much I love the class and I just wish I knew how much i would love it from the beginning so i could have more enchanting time under my belt. So not a complete regret but more of a retrospection

Rolling a mage as my main because epic pets are OP. Found out how rare the mage epic was on this server. Go farm seafury island to get money to twink an alt. Buy a rogue epic and they decide to nerf all epics to be required lvl 46.

I was there when the last Guise of the Deceiver dropped on the server. I let a guy who asked to join me loot it, just to be a nice guy, as I had gotten several already. To this day, I wish I hadn’t. That guy ended up getting banned a year later. Here I am, all these years later, wishing I had that mask on my ogre war! I put the prior masks on toons that don’t matter to me.

Long time go (not present) joining a raid guild with only 1 level 60... complete waste of time and really killed a lot of enjoyment of the game. Would recommend to any players new to p99 to wait until you have at bare minimum 1level 60 and 1 other character that you are actively leveling / playing while your 60 is on eternal stand-by mode for raids

I retired, for the first time, right after Kunark launched, but before anyone had VP keys. The race to 60 was still on, there were at most 2 level 60s.

Probably my biggest regret would be making my Ranger a Half Elf. I really enjoy the class, and realistically I guess I could reroll, but I don’t feel like leveling another one and I don’t feel like redoing my epics, especially the Earthcaller.

I also regret making my Enchanter an erudite. If I could remake him I’d go Gnome, but it’s whatever, he can at least illusion.

My third regret is not getting multiple guises on characters like my Paladin and Ranger. I wish I’d created low level alts of the cool guise classes (shaman, Pally, Monk, Ranger and Druid) and gotten a guise for each of them. For some reason I didn’t really care when this server opened....I don’t think I expected to spend the following 9 years gaming here, but now I really regret it

Biggest Regret- Not going all in on this adventure before i moved into a place with my g.f.. My days are numbered.. 2 weeks, not 1 log in.. No playtime can be seen in my future.. Poor me.. In other news, the fam played the new mario party this weekend.. I got last place.. Normal cpu, girlfriend, and her 13 year old son all beat me.. My days as a gamer i've realized, are now numbered..

My biggest regret was play red to "relive my rallos zek days". I wasted almost a year on that shithole blue is so much better, I enjoy actually seeing people running around and not being bind camped

But also no, in the sense that RMT can get be caught: unless you go bragging about it I don't see how the staff could possibly catch "name RMT".

My biggest regret on p99 was about November 2016 to about April 2017 where couple merchants in EC would sell the scout charisa benevolence disk loot rights for about 25-35k. Now you couldn’t get one if you paid 70k because it’s forbidden now =(

It may not be as hopeless as it seems. My druid is also KoS with just about every city (save Ak'Anon) and most druid epic quest NPCs, but I was able to complete it. Most of the druid epic turn ins can be done at indifferent. I was even KoS to Xanuusus for the final turn in. All you need is a friend who can cast invisiblity on you. Here's how to do it:

1) Cast Harmony on the NPC you want to do a turn in with.
2) Slowly approach the NPC. You want to be close enough to trade, but far enough that they won't aggro you through Harmony.
3) Put all your quest turn-ins in the trade window.
4) Have a friend cast invisibility on you.
5) Confirm the NPC cannot see invis. /consider and ensure that you are indifferent.
6) Click 'Give'.
