Started my shawl quest this week, but the more I think about it the more I'm unsure if it's worth doing. Once a shaman gets torp they don't really meditate right? Is the flowing thoughts worth it or should I just get something with HP?

This is true: the main time I med is right after being rezzed. Otherwise it's always faster to Cannibalize + Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring repeatedly with Torpors in-between.

But look, even without Torpor you still won't notice FT1: it's just not big enough to be noticable. Even so, it's still free mana that you get in addition to all that Cannibalizing, and that extra mana does add up to an extra spell every now and then.

Personally I've had mine and Torpor for at least a year now, and I still haven't felt the need to upgrade, but YMMV.

Gunna vote no on the shawl. Sure it adds up and you can make a case that every little bit counts but I the effort it will take to complete the shawl will likely leave you disappointed with your reward. Spend like 4k on the 45/45 shoulders imo.

However this is a min max opinion and does not factor in the fun of questing and such if that's your thing.
