Welcome to the official information and recruiting thread for the Aegis Alliance on Project1999. The Aegis Alliance is an official partnership between six small to medium size guilds who group, quest, raid, and compete against other major guilds and alliances in Project1999.

The following guilds are full members of the Aegis Alliance.

The Aegis Alliance was formed on 9 July, 2018 by several former member guilds of the Hydra Alliance and since this time has actively worked towards accomplishing new goals and perfecting the old. We are regularly found raiding both Kunark and Velious including parts of ToV encompassing HoT and NToV crawls to PoM. We are currently in the process of opening up WToV to our members. We also frequently raid the planes of Hate, Fear, Growth and Sky. The Aegis Alliance holds the Saturday night sky slot and raids every week in this slot starting promptly at 9 EST with regular full clears.

Recently the Aegis alliance has remained competitive with the majority of P99’s raiding guilds. We operate several raids a week, have a non-mandatory batphone for pick up targets, and even work with other guilds of a similar size on certain targets. The Aegis Alliance has a partnership with <Paradigm Shift> for Ring Wars and we are also happy to participate in targets with other groups on request, as long as we’ve given it a shot first!

All of the guilds of the Aegis Alliance are currently recruiting and each one has different standards for admission. You can likely find the recruiting thread of each of these guilds in this forum and apply within. The Alliance is always recruiting new guilds if we believe that a mutual benefit can be achieved both by the individual guild and the alliance.

Alliance loot operates on RAP (most of you have seen us yelling this in OOC, sorry, we don’t have raid channels). RAP stands for Raid Attendance Points and are acquired by individual characters and spent by those characters during Aegis raids. RAP is earned at a rate of one point per hour or, for raids lasting less than an hour, a flat one point. Bids are submitted in tells to our loot master and the winner who bids the highest wins loot for +1 RAP over the second highest bid. Most loot is up for rap bid, some loot is considered randomable – but all loot may be elevated to RAP at a members request. The Aegis Alliance is a strictly need before greed alliance.

Almost every single member of MC became Bastion. They are the same folks but a reformation was required due to the old guild leader Lew having disappeared for a few years!

Quake Saturday was a good day for us.

Prior to quake, we downed Talendor.

After quake, we roamed around Norrath snagging the following:

Faydedar
Magi P'Tasa (no staff :( ) and other minis in Hate
Severilous (no scales :( )
Talendor
Venril Sathir (yay wiz staff :) )

And finished the day with our normal full Sky clear, including 3 efreetis!

Great day for a bunch of casual raiders with a life outside of the game and family responsibilities!

Aegis had a fun and eventful day. :D

Super-fun Severilous with only 20 to test our limits! Grats Kushida on the soon-to-be first Aegis and ALS warrior epic!

We hopped into Fear on CT repop competing with 3 other guilds. We got a target engaged, but trained ourselves and failed horribly. Not our best moment, but we laughed at it and learned from it!

Our normal Sky clear was clean and quiiiick! Efreetis were particularly stingy though. (Why do the loot gods only want us to play paladins??)

And finally, our late night crew capped the day off right with Vindi kill #1234567890.

If you aren't deadset on getting the best-in-slot gear and joining the seemingly 24-7 tracking/poopsocking that the uber guilds have, consider checking out one of the Aegis Alliance's guilds listed in the original post instead!

Raid casually on your own terms, while having fun, making friends, getting some decent loot, and completing your class epic.

Wow, what a crazy night! Not even the Great Troll Quake of 2019 can slow Aegis down!

First, wanted to congratulate and welcome <Dio> to the Aegis Alliance! They are some good peoples, and they like to rock.

Second, a quick update on Aegis! We had a fun and fortuitous quake this weekend (thank you devs!) and finished a couple epics because of it.

Congrats to the following:

1. Feydain for only the second homegrown Aegis warrior epic
2. Nonon for the first! homegrown Aegis bard epic
3. Stanfizzle for his shaman epic
4. Cynevil for his soon-to-be completed necro epic

We run alliance events multiple days throughout the week, and are active in the mid-tier raid scene. Come check us out!

Aegis has now completed epics for all 14 classes. Some are much, much more difficult than others, but we can do them all and finish EQ goals for our members.

After a frustrating wipe at 7% on Friday and a long CR afterwards due to repops, Aegis/BG/Kittens came back the next day to absolutely smash Lord Vyemm with less people!

I would formally like to apologize on behalf of Blood Guard for the past weeks occurrences with the quake, Sev, the infraction and the way everything was handled.
After having time to let it marinate, its become glaringly clear that all of this was blown out of proportion on all ends. Everyone came out losing and thats just not fun.

I want us to grow, I want BG to grow, I want Aegis to grow. I want us all to succeed.

Most importantly i want us all to have fun. This head-ache has been too much for even the strongest human to bare witness to.

Good stuff Aegis, even with multiple guilds coming together to kill mobs, you are still downing targets with less numbers than other solo guilds. Number of players, not guilds, is whats important at the end of the day. Keep up the good work.

I am interested in joining a guild to participate in endgame/help complete epics/finish road to level 60 of this love/hate relationship with this game lol. I like everything I hear about this alliance between guilds and the bid system when raiding. I understand ALS has a strict rule to join that tag. My argument here is why is this still aegis alliance ? Why aren't yall just 1 big guild called Aegis ? or Aegis Alliance or w/e with the exception of ALS ? Now I don't have any info or whatever but if I am assuming wrong where the alliance is 5 or 6 guilds , each having like 8 people in them? Is that correct ? now that's 8 individual real life people behind the toon, not counting how many alts etc.

I think the format provides more long term stability and spreads out leadership/administrative duties. It also lets new member guilds retain some of their individual qualities after joining.
