Blue server only.
What is, in your opinion, the approximate minimum amount of total wealth expressed in platinum, that makes someone "rich" in your eyes ?

Items, sellable MQs all count. Things like having full PoM armor don't since they aren't resellable.

Friends that have fun and can help each other get what they want.

Securing the means of production is what ensures wealth.

I was talking to a guildie about this the other week. I think it all just grows in scale with your time on the server. As you get closer to 60, get into raiding, and spend a couple years here your view on plat shifts alot ultimately bottoming out.

On your way to 60 (the first time) it's likely a player will be happy with any coin they naturally get while xping and exploring norrath and would be ecstatic to snipe the roll on a 1k item. But then upon hitting 60 and gaining access to better cash camps, the scale shifts. Suddenly you win a fungi tunic and dont care about winning that 500p spell off a reaver and might even opt to not "waste" your roll on it.

Later on, you start eyeing expensive upgrades for your main because you're raiding so you start intentionally farming plat. Next thing you know you're farming fungis / juggs / BM consistantly and start pulling in some real cash and you opt to not bother with any camp that doesn't have a significant drop to win (probably 20k and up) and giving a newbie player or tipping a DaP porter with a 500-1k item is no big deal because it was too much bag space anyway.

After that I think most people will either decide to embrace plat fully and start joining farm crews, doing coldain rings, etc to shoot for their millions or their interest in plat will dive bomb into indifference because dkp is the valuable currency now because plat cant buy you the highest end items in the game.

Edit: I routinely get runed morning stars (an item i was infatuated with when I was new here) and I will use them a porting tips or selling them to new players for about 20% of the price passing through ec just so I can buy another stack of dots slightly more conveinatly and was just funny how a couple years ago, I was willing to sell my soul for one of those things but now, I would hand it to an orc pawn in west Freeport just to nose exhale at the sight.

0-10k = kid / high school student with part time job
10k - 50k = graduated high school (or college with liberal arts degree) and just bought your first car. You have a shitty apartment
50k-200k = have a car, have a decent place to live at, got your shit together
200k-500k = Have nice car, maybe you put a down payment on a house and you can be regarded as a productive member of society
500k-2M = Approximately 6 figure income
2M-10M = upper middle class, after keeping at it a few years you can buy a new Mercedes or other "nicer" car. You own at least one house.
10M+ = What counts as "rich"

In your world, people who don't have a 6 figure income but paid off their mortgage are outlandish. Bwahah

your average raider has 100-300k.

Its the really old losers, shitheads, and scammers that have been on the server 8 years that have 1 mil +

10+ mil because you can have 1 and not be able to fully twink out a character with BIS and all the clickies.

How can you be rich if you cant do that?

I mean, rich is subjective. To a homeless crackhead under a bridge, owning a bicycle might be rich.

Im considering it like having your own (multiple) private jets, private island, etc.

If you dont have a full time druid and wizard porting for your leisure that youve hired, you aren't rich yet.

I am not yet max level, playing on only one char, which is a sk and I already have over 150k of money/dropable...
I don't think I am wealthy at all, as such I would consider 1M as wealthy and 10M+ as rich...

What is a person who chose to have a 6-figure income instead of mountains of plat or 3+ Vulak loots?

What camps did you do? Most people don't make anywhere near that kind of cash before level 60. Did you get a lucky torpor roll?

I think the key was this part:

I am not yet max level

Anyone can become fabulously wealthy before 60 ... if they just spend all their time getting plat instead of leveling ;)

Rich on this server is 5k. That'll buy you a stack of Dragon Steaks and nobody's eating any better than that.

No specific camp, just playing... The biggest income so far comes from a sold Garzicor's mq and some loot won on ring10 raid...

100k is definitely not rich, you can't even twink out 1 char properly with that much, fungi + CoF is 100k alone. You can have one nicely geared character for 100k but that doesn't qualify as rich.

1 million is doing pretty well, you can have a few characters with fungus, cloak of flames, and a couple of other nice things like Aon or some Epic M Q's. It definitely isn't rich though since you can really only have a couple of items from the top tier of dropables.

Out of the options on the poll I picked 10 million since that put you in a position to have many of the top droppables like AOW legs / mask / helm / sword , mithril gloves / boots / helm, AoN, strings, beads, manastone, etc etc. You can also afford any epic mq and even a prenerf fungi staff or tink mask if they ever came for sale.

For the last poll option, does anyone even have 50+ mil?? I doubt guild banks even have that much. That would be the equivalent of 100 pre nerf beads (valuing beads more than generously at 500k)

If you're not investing that cash in inflation-proof items you're doing it wrong.

Manastones / prenerf CoS's / etc dropping in price as time goes on, right?

Removing supply of these kinds of items will definitely deflate prices, you're right.

I think 250k outside of your geared characters is what I consider wealthy. I got 1+ million in items (2x elder beads, epics etc) but don't have enough liquid plat (75k) to really twink out a new character.
