Haste Question

Hey guys!

I was reading that Haste items with the same effect do not stack. I have

Silver Chitin Handwraps
Haste: 22%

Silvery Belt of Contention
Haste: 21%

I'm guessing these aren't stacking and I'm only getting 22% haste? Or am I getting 43%?

Worn haste does not stack-- so yes, your haste is 22%.

You can add additional haste from a buff (ie Alacrity)

Interesting....

So I have a Belt of Iniquity (only 16% - but has stats too) and a Rod of Lamentation 25/36.

For grins I calculated what DPS would be on that and if I changed to a Mithril 2H (21/40) for example with 31% haste on it +16% from my belt... based on those calculations:

with 16% the Rod goes to 25/31 (36/1.16 = 31)
with 47% (31% from M2H and 16% from belt) the 2H goes to 21/27 (40/1.47 = 27)

25/3.1 is 8.06 dps
21/2.7 is 7.77 dps

I would have assumed 21/40 with 47% haste would be better than 25/36 with 16% haste but assuming the calculations are correct (same as what's on the haste guide) it would appear not.

and don't make fun of my belt :P ... I got it on my very first ever trip to Sky, and since then have lost rolls on 4 diaphanous globes and have never seen a Spiroc Lord drop the NO DROP piece in maybe 25-30 Sky runs :cry:

Those calculations are not correct. Worn haste does not stack, as stated above, so you would only be getting 31% haste with the mithril 2H regardless of wearing the belt. So your Rod of Lamentation is going to beat mithril 2H by an even larger margin.

Also, while it won't make much difference in this case since the weapons are of similar delay, you shouldn't just use the base ratio for comparison. Your actual modal hit will be 2*(weapon damage) + damage bonus (11 at level 60). Which is why a 1/2 ratio Jade Mace does more dps than a 3/5 ratio Wurmslayer at higher levels for example, even though the latter has a higher ratio:

Jade Mace: (2*9 + 11)/18 ~ 1.61
Wurmslayer: (2*25 + 11)/40 ~ 1.53

tl;dr haste guide: worn + spell bar buff + ervaj (+luclin era bard) stack with each other, but not themselves

doh! Thought I had it right, but yes that would be two (2) worn...

So, belt +clicky Haste on Ashenwood Short Spear (spell haste) would stack... guess I'll try to farm some of those in Najena.
