So, I am still working on getting to 60, but in the meantime, I feel like there is some gear on me that can use some replacing. I was wondering if you guys could make some suggestions. I have about maybe 10k to spend, and I have some vel gems, if I could get a reasonable MQ for it.

If I was to do the vel gems route, which would be the better items, beguiler's or illusionists?

Hard without knowing what items you already have. Think illusionist armor beats beguiler in most every way.

Edit: missed the magelo, sorry

I think the best bang for your buck upgrade, with your budget, would be a Neriad Shawl. You can get them for as little at 8k plat, and it will offer a substantial upgrade to your shoulder slot and get you in position to start swapping CHA gear for more +int, +mana, and + hp gear. Otherwise, I would try and do skyshrine armor upgrades. The skyshrine wrists in particular are fabulous on an enchanter, and the arms and legs are pretty close to Best in Slot. The SS robe is 3rd BIS IMO for an enchanter after Vulak and PoM robe.

Those MQs can usually be purchased for 10-12k, except for the legs or robe, which are substantially more expensive. Or you can do Lord Bob open HOT, or join a guild that regularly does HoT to pick them up yourself.

If you ever want to chat gear, feel free to shoot me a tell. My main toon is Baylan, and I’m often on Pugni or Tumia these days.

Free ench gear in PoH and PoS (fairly common rot).

Spend that money on some spells (which will cost 8-12k)

With Neriad Shawl being No Drop, would I be purchasing loot rights? I do need/want to get into a position where I can stop worrying about CHA, as to max out 255 I need to swap to stein when charming. Unless post 200 it's not really relevant.

In regards to SS armor, that'll be more of a join raids, right? I currently have the Chest for it, but perhaps I should start putting aside some time each week to raid a bit to get that gear up.

Do a lot of guilds still do PoH and Sky raids? Or even, have open raids with /ran on the rots?

Sky has a public rotation. Check the wiki for details on which guilds. PoH is fairly common for guilds to do (free loot, minibosses).

You won't really find open raids for them.

lord Bob does HoT open raids. Most guilds raid HoT pretty regularly, but you can buy the MQs if you want. The encounters really require multiple groups though.

Neriad Shawl loot rights are exactly what I’m talking about. Prismatica is (IMO) the best in the business.

I'd save the plat for bedlam. You can hit max cha with what you have in your inventory. Maybe do the Helssen's Prismatic Trinket quest. The rest of the upgrades you'd want will come from PoM or raiding with a guild. But with what you have, you can farm the good/easier enchanter camps out there (velks, HS, Seb, etc).

Dont waste your money on gear, just get upgrades as you play. Enchanters are not gear intensive and the money you spend will have very little effect outside of more HPs...mana not even that big a deal for ench

I don’t understand why people say you shouldn’t gear a toon while you’re playing. That’s half the fun to me. Especially when you aren’t super motivated to xp. Camping or working on upgrades is fun

Cause the 8-12k enchanter spells are worth more than a similar piece of gear for same price

i did cha and hp if you follow the sebilis charm line, int stuff was my 3rd concern

you are 57 and you have 10k

if you don't have bedlam, thats where the money will go

1100 hp unbuffed is very very low, i have no clue why you are using those rings/earring/neck/head/range/waist items

you don't need max or 230+ cha to be effective

buying a no drop, especially thurg/ss armor, is like throwing money into the ocean, unless it's a super good deal

if you insist on buying an item, then buy nerial shaw - then you can toss away all your trash int/cha items and get hp

**my lvl 60 de chanter with 25 starting stats into sta/wearing hp gears, has no problem solo charm cash camps or trio king groups, fyi**

If I was 57 again and mostly soloing with some grouping and had 10k to my name with that gear buy Bedlam like others have said. Then I would sell the Orb and Tranix Crown and replace a lot of that other gear which will more than make up for any stats you lost selling Orb/Crown besides losing the MR/AC.

Haven't logged in in a few months so prices may be a little lower now than what they were but selling Orb and Crown nets you around 25-30k.

The math includes the items you're replacing

Siryn Hair Hood = -2CHA, -20MR (+9kish)
Book of Dawn = +9CHA, -35AC, -30HP, -75 mana, -5 Int, (+19.5kish)
Neriad Shawl = +25 CHA, +3int, -3AC (-8k)
+65hp/6AC rings = -7 CHA, +105 HP, +7AC, -2int, -25Mana (-700pp)
Coldain Skin Gloves = -3CHA,+9STA, +6Int, +20hp/20m, +6 AC (-2k)
+35hp/25mana earrings = -10CHA, +70hp, +50 mana (-1.3k)
Spider Fur Belt = +40HP, +8AC, -5INT (-1k)
Incandescent Mask = -1CHA, +5int (-500pp)

You would gain +11 CHA, +205HP, +2INT, -30 Mana, +9STA (21hp at 60), -17 AC, -20MR and you would have around 16k left over for the rest of your spells or for something like Ice Silk Leggings until you can get an SS drop or buy some other MR gear if you raid. Orb and Crown are nice items but they are luxury items considering what you could get with the same amount of plat.

There may be some better low priced options for some of those slots I can't think of off the top of my head, but the general idea is the same. Once you have Dictate you can easily do the Helssen's Trinket quest someone already mentioned but it's not worth buying the MQ at 57.

I probably botched some of the math and I left out some of the stats but if you look into it all yourself I can say with a high degree of certainty it would be a large net gain for you.
