Can someone explain to me the point of eye of zomm if it now pulls agro back to you? Is there any reason to use it other than potentially training people? Should I bank my precious clay bracelet?

This. Also, you can pull while sitting (medding). Very useful for places like furies where you could spend quite a bit of time just running around and not medding. Also useful for pulling other rooms in dungeons without moving (and potentially losing) your camp.

There are many benefits to this, at least in my opinion.

i honestly didnt remember ever pulling agro with eye until someone mentioned pull thru locked doors heh
but now i remember occasionally split pulling a few rooms this way ;)

You should be able to zone in, face the wall, cast/click they eye and have it appear on the other side of the wall, without getting aggro. That's the way bards went to check on the undead bard. Eye+bind sight hopping

I'm pretty sure you have to damage a mob before it starts summoning. But I really don't have much experience with summoning mobs in P99. Can anyone confirm this?

there are both types. Somewhere around when NTOV was out, they added "summon on agro" ability, which made some high end dragons impossible to pull at all
